Max speed for a RSV Mille

I was checking this summer the max speed of my RSV Mille and I found that it didn't go beyond 265 km/h. My last bike was a Ducati S4R (115CV) which reached 240-250 Km/h. A friend of mine has a Ducati S4RS (140CV) which reaches 275 km/h with no problem (being a naked bike).

This of course made me think that something seems to be "limited" in my Mille such that next week I'm going to check my bike's ECU for any limitation from factory.

What do you think? I'm being a paranoid with speed or this is the normal top speed it may reach?

Tks to all!

this means about 290 km/h... well, this confirms that something has to be checked

tks

sure :(

now waiting to Aprilia to check what's going wrong.............

179 on my 06

tks.. I'm now convinced that there's something that seems to be "limited"

none.... strictly from factory... I've heard that maybe it has to do with mapping, and changing it the max speed could be reached.. I cannot believe that 164 mph is a max speed for a 1000cc 140hp power bike!

certainly... I'm gonna leave her on Wednesday for checking the clutch (it goes down after a "hard day" and the pump is a brand-new one from Aprilia...)

I'll continue informing next week.........

140bhp is a little hopeful. I dont think you would get that at the rear wheel from a stock bike. Mine has a few toys and doesn't have that much after being set up on the dyno.

I think the standard 04-07 bikes are 143bhp at the crank which usually means you can lose between 10 and 20bhp through the gearbox and chain giving between 123 and 133 bhp at the back wheel. Changing the cans, engine map and airbox will probably give you between 5 and 10 bhp back at the rear wheel.

in any case, mine doesn't reach by far the max speed of this bike

True. Hope you get it sorted an unleash the fury! Is it just limited top end or do you feel it doesn't accelerate as fast as it should?

Everything works fine, it accelerates OK from low revs and the engine pushes hard...but when 260-265 km/h has been reached, it doesn't go beyond, and (as confirmed by all of you) more than 20 km/h are missing.

I'm quite sure that this is beacuse of the factory engine map or any other electronic limit... hope it can be switched it into B mode
