Hi to everyone just wondering if it is possible to switch from one map to the other , and possibly do away with the 02 sensor, also i have been reading different articles on rectifiers/ stator coils do these problems also effect 07/08 models and if so is there a fix for this. look forward to your replies many thanks puffer. ps. any pics would be helpfull.

you can only have the map 2 installed by an axione machine / instrument

apparently another earth lead between engine and frame helps with the stator issues

marks correct puffer it can only be done with the axone machine - i could be wrong but i think changing it to map2 disables the 02 sensor in the collector pipe anyway ,

as regards to the stator / rectifier issues - you need to do the brown connector modifications , let us know u struggle finding them loads of posts on here and also i think you need a set of my uprated battery lead set which includes an additional earth :devious -

regards wes

Thankyou both for your help, i was hoping by now aprilia might have sorted out this connector problem many thanks puffer.

Hi wes what is the advantage of uprating the battery leads ?could you also let me know how much they are and how to pay many thanks puffer.

there is loads of advantages puffer , let me know if you need more info or if anyone else would like more info

stator issues are much less common on the post 06 bikes as they changed the stator wattage and the troublesome connector is no longer in the loom.

your ecu is pemanently equipped with both open maps and closed loop maps, they just need to switch which one is active via the axone and reset the CO balance. On variant 2 the Lambda sensor is ignored but has to remain in circuit.

You need cat free cans for variant 2 though.

there is still the rectifier connector on the inner fairing on the o/s of the bike tho kev ,
and i think u need a set of my leads on your bike - you got every other mod on it lol :biggrin
the leads allow more amps to be provided to the starter on cranking and the extra earth allows a better connection for the whole electrical system.
But its all sleeved in expensive conduit - swaged terrminal ends - with top quality rubber boots proctecting the essential terminals and the finest of heatshrink to finish things off : lol thumbup

yesterday sent mine 1st gen rsv 1000r factory 2004 to get update on mapping..

for a years.. mine bike runs really well on -664583 (file VD5L683$.BIX) (aprilia hardware 385 466 000) (revision number = 4c)

both cyl pressure was equal 616-666 - +

with full system akra..

so mechanic using piaggio navigator.. updated to

-664586 (file VD5G68B$.BIX)

but my siemes VDO ecu rejected to load this version.. why i cant load this mapping?

after that mechanic upload new mapping to the

-664585 (file VD5L68A$.BIX)

revision number = 4c

but mine bike runs not really clear.. seems it didnt like the new mapping.. sometime it jerking.. and really lazy on mid rpm.. charging system in sudden shows below 12.3v.. before get changed.. just fine 13.4v.. will send back soon to change the mapping

cyl pressure is front (1002) rear (702) currently.
