This may sound bizarre, but does anybody elses tail light move up and down within the light surround ? (on a 02 RSV) Mines does and the lens are now resting on the light surround itself. Tried to tighten it up but no matter how tight it is it still moves ?

Any ideas chaps ?

my tail light flops up and down in the rear surround also Ritch..but maybe not quite as much as you describe..mine is 02 also

My '02' rear lamp moves up and down a small amount but wouldn't say it was overly loose.

Dunno how these are fitted/mounted, perhaps one of yours may be loose or broken.

Thanks for the replies fellas,

To be honest there isnt that much movement, probably less than 5mm, its the fact that the rear lenses rests on the bottom of the light surround and is started to wear a groove in them

my 02 is the same, (tho not quite as low) I think its supposed to do that to kill the vibes a bit.
cheers Ck

LOL, no its not ment to be loose, i used to here mine rattle as i went over bumps, i've tightened mine up - looking at top of light surround theres a small bolt and underneath it is a small nut just tighten a bit, it is secured with rubber washers so don't overtighten :)

Hi Dude,

Tigthened all three bolts (two either side, one on top) still a little wobbly ?

Seems theres a few lads on here with wobbly back ends :biggrin

Me too. I tightened some and it got better but the rubber insulators are what make it never quite tighten up. If it was solidly mounted, you would be constantly replacing bulbs.

I would think that all your wobbly back ends are cos you are using defective rubbers.......
You have all been using the same rubbers for 6 years if you've got 02's, so how is that going to protect your back ends???:biggrin
