Looking for Descent Grips

A

amb67

Looking for a set of bar grips to replace my tatty and worn OE Aprilia ones. (Think they are about to split and are moving around a lot)

Was just wondering what you guys had fitted and found to be good quality.

Have seen a few on Ebay but they look cheap and I'm a firm believer that cheap is not best.

Yeah Soft Renthalls have had them for years always use the glue and be careful there are two different lengths so when ordering make sure they are the long ones.

Cheers guys,

Will have a scout around and see what info I can dig up on them.

I suppose the days of fitting grips using hairspray are gone then? LOL

Last time I changed a set of grips I was 9 years old and it was on my FS1E.

If your coming out this weekend for a blast....can I suggest heated grips....I know they are girlie....but **** I would have killed for a pair on Sunday

LOL, guess what I was just looking at on Flea Bay - Click Me

I was worried that adding yet another electrical consumer to the bike may make it even more of a pain to start.

I had some of them on my ZX9R, waste of time TBH unless you wear thin gloves, then the front of ya hands get to cold so what you need then is the handle bar muffs :puke

Decent heated gloves are better i found over my winter riding days :thumbup

Hostile attack

OK, I started the thread at 12.09hrs so if I try to wriggle out of this by saying I was oiled up then I'm gonna look like a right alcoholic.

So as always the truth it will be:

I cannot lie I had partaken in a few drinks and had obviously taken my eye off the ball and made this terrible smelling pistake.

Cheers for pointing it out STL

Game over

Those Renthal Diamond/Waffle soft compound grips look very tempting at £6.95. Works out at around £12 including delivery and glue etc...

I considered the heated grips but to be honest I don't usually get out much in the winter, work tends to be much busier in winter and I end up spending late nights at the office.

If I do find I'm riding more in winter I'll invest in some of those heated gloves, they look much more manageable.

just went to fit some, question is do you need to cut, sand grind etc all the ridges on the throttle tube??...:dunno

i suggest really grippy grips for the rollercoaster ride that comes on our rideouts:devious

Anyone used these before?

The write up seems to be on par with what I'm after, triple compound etc...

But first hand experience is always worth asking for.

RS3 Mille, do you reckon these will be grippy enough for the ride outs? LOL

Go for the Renthals, I had them on my zx7r and they were great.

Your local Hein Gericke should have them in if you want to see them in the flesh! :thumbup

GO FOR THE PROGRIP ONES !!!:thumbup:thumbup

If they are good enough for Troy Bayliss, Marco Melandri, etc.

Then i think they have a proven record :devious

That's my 2 bobs's worth.:eatcorn
