well guys crunch time in two years job finishes and am deciding to move away from this ***** country it has got to be the most expensive country to live in with taxes/ fuel etc and the weather is always *****:rant
the decision is between NEW ZEALAND and AUSTRALIA am now looking into it :devious
its a case of having the balls to do it!
which would you choose? i'm sure most would pick aus!
basically i need better quality of life for my family what do you lot think?

depending on what you got to offer Job Wise buddy! if you have a trade then your pretty much onto a winner with Oz, maybe pop over for a short holiday and see what you think, if you hold off till Feb ill tell ya all about it :thumbup

NZ every time, when i was training with Bradford Bulls the New Zealanders were proper chilled out guys with ver laid back attitudes to life.
the climate is perfect as well cold up north and hot down south, the culture is very similar to ours as long as you love rugby and the crime rate is non existent

I'd go tomorrow if the missus would!!!!!!

Mate of mine moved to NZ about 10 yrs ago now. Set-up his own business now and he loves it :thumbup Only thing they dont like is at Christmas time...says there's no xmas spirit or atmosphere :dunno

One lad from work is in the process of moving to NZ, just got to sell his house. Three other lads have all just moved to Oz within the last three months too. Seems the most popular choice as you say, but if it were me it would be NZ....supposed to have fantastic biking roads :devious

Isn't there an age limit tho' to move to Australia :dunno 45yrs and under and your ok, over 45 and your stuck here :roll

NZ i am off there myself in a few years , when they have finished replumbing my boys heart ! :thumbup

Was going to post about age limit..Bummer, to old. Nice to be reminded you're classed as over the hill..

n.z for me too.
a mate from the subaru forum moved last year, and he adores it.
scenery looks amazing too,i.e lord of the rings
good look buddy, wish i had the money to do it,cos id deffo have the balls too get out of this ********!

Would have to be NZ mate - Ozzies take the piss when they hump the pommes at sport - which is more often than not :rant
If i had my way it would be Canada - still trying to convince the wife - UK aint what it used to be :dunno
Good Luck bud - first refusal on yer mille if you have to sell it!:devious

I know exactly how you feel, the UK is not the country it used to be, we've lost our backbone.
When the kids are older my partner and I are off.
Out of the two places I would go to NZ.
One of my friends got promoted to MD of Honda in NZ so he and partner moved at the beginning of the year, they love it there and have no plans to come back to this dreary island!

Go for it.

If you've got the idea, then take it as far as you like, run with it and see what happens. Better to try something and it not work out rather than spend the rest of your life regretting not doing it.

I lived in Canada for 2 1/2 years and loved it and could have lived there for the rest of my life. Came back here, one 'eager beaver' :devious and and a sprog later kind of scuppered that plan :rant:biggrin The country is great, people are genuinely laid back and friendly , the standard of living is good - always something to do as well. Could go on all day about it... Never been to Oz or NZ but I likes me rugby and if I can complete my degree in a couple of years time then i'll deffo be considering NZ or Canada because I can't see this ******** country getting better, only worse sadly.:eatcorn

go for it:thumbup my dads dutch but moved here years back but i still go and stay at an uncles in a small town over there ervery year love the place would move there tomorrow but my work hard to find in that part but who knows theres time yet

Go for it mate :thumbup Wud have to be Oz for me as thats where the family is, but think the climate and roads are better in NZ :devious

Fcuk it lets all go :doug can you imagine Summer Bay and Ramsey Street with 1100+ rsv's thundering through it :biggrin

if its what you want go for it

i looked into aus last year
took an online trial application to see where i stood with points with regards to my trade
cleared that with something like 130
would loose 5 or 10 off that if i went after i turned 30
got a couple of years left till that.

had a telephone conversation with visa bureau for best part of hour checking details

Trying to source work this end was proving difficult making contacts etc

if you have friends family or job sorted, and they will sponsor you it works out cheaper on yourself

working travel visa, £300 roughly had to change jobs every 6 months but could extend visa for second year

emigration visa which would entilte you to citizenship was £4000 roughly no limintations
