Ere in AubloodyStraya it's too hot in summer for leather's so I do the opposite and wear mesh textile with kevlar reinforced denim jeans (with hip pads and strap on knee-shin protectors).
In winter (that would probably be same as your summer ) I use a Revit textile 3 in 1 type jacket (rain and quilted zip out liners). It no longer gets cold enough to use full textile pants and so I just pull on my plastic rain pants if needed.
Who said global warming was BS? I remember doing the same riding - but 20 years ago it was Fffffffreezing and you had to have good stuff, now I get by with summer gear and some rain cover.......
Naturally today's gear is more advanced (kevlar, Goretex, Reflective, etc etc ) but I always had good gear and was always warm and dry in adverse conditions. Oh, and I have always been a F_F sort of guy.....not for me to have a grasshopper hit between the eyes......or gravel rash on my face.......but I still see younger toughies bare handed, open faced with squinting eyes against the force of the wind and of course shorts and thongs with a full battle armour jacket..........I must be missing something.....??
Cheers........big chunder storm at 5 am stopped me from going on a nice cool breakfast ride........
Ya bleeding woose. A drop of rain shouldn't stop ya!
I've just bought new RSt boots and a pair if Furygan textile winter gloves. Dry and toasty ( that's warm to you)
