gonna start using my 02 rsvr in april (only rode it once when i bought it in jan, been in a garage since then) and was wondering...

I have to leave my bikes outside with a stormex rain cover on as i have no garage or shelter.

In the uk weather should i expect trouble or will it be ok if kept covered?

P.s. Before anyone points it out yes i am a soft fairweather biker, but i just cant motivate myself to ride in this long miserable winter

I had less trouble with mine when I kept it outside under a duvet and a cover than I do now when it's in a garage! I think she just enjoys being treated rough!

Had mine outside with a cheap argos cover and yes I had problems starting the bike with the colder temps . I would get a decent cover when you can , its in my neighbours garage now but still even with good battery and uprated solenoid , the bloody thing wont start properly sometimes . Roll on spring/summer .

Mine is kept under a Stormex cover in the summer months, the Stormex cover with the soft inner lining. No problems at all except it nearly blew over in strong winds!! I now keep it on a paddock stand under the cover as it is much more stable. The bike is garaged over winter some distance from me. I don't think you'll have any problems in the warmer months if the bike is used regularly. I still keep mine on an Optimate as the alarm/immobiliser eats battery power and as anyone will tell you on here that the battery needs to be fully charged to start the v-twin. Hope this helps

Best to charge the battery first before trying to start her as a low battery can take out the sprag clutch

if you get some dry warm windy days take of the cover and let her breath, it may stop dampness causing troubles starting
