Keeping the RSVR so need advice

Ok so I have decided to keep the RSVR so now I want to make sure I get the most out of it. :devious

The bike has a couple of trick mods such as an evo air box, power commander with custom map, acro cans and changed the gearing but I want to know if there are any other little gems I am missing out on?

I remember reading things about a rear brake mod to improve the poor performance and some mod regarding the hydraulic clutch components to stop it being such a pain to get into neutral?

I want the bike to be as enjoyable as possible to stop me wanting to sell it again so please help.

First thing I am going to do it get a full 8000 mile service, get the mapping tweaked and quick shifter set up and change the fairing fasteners.

Cheers,
Mark.

I never even knew that forum existed! I am sure it will help. Thanks.

Fook`s sake Mark, just been looking at your "For Sale" thread.......

You MUST NOT, I repeat; MUST NOT get rid of that bike, it looks absolutely awesome !! :devious:thumbup

I only wish you`d had it up for sale a month ago, when I bought my `04 plate, I`d have snatched your hand off !

Such is life............:roll

Where to begin..

I never get out on it and when I do I haven't been enjoying it. It makes my wrists hurt, makes the inside of my legs very very hot, Its impossible to get into neutral with the engine running, it feels very snatchy at low revs and low speed and the rear shock is too hard. To resolve some of the problems I am going to change the rear spring back to the original Ohlins spring and set the sag up fromt and rear and set it up as a road bike and less like my race bike! I am also going to get the mapping looked at to try and smooth it out at low revs when I crack the trottle open.

I am sure just getting it serviced, engine and suspension set up, giving it a good clean, a polish and changing some fairing fasteners will give me some more love.

Mark, mine is a standard `04 RSVR, and I got it set up by a suspension specialist (Kais Suspension, Atherton nr Manchester).

It was a ride in/ride out service, and was well worth the money.

Best £40 I ever spent on a bike, as it now rides beautifully for my weight.

Don`t know if something similar may assist mate, at least with the ride problems you`re having ? :thumbup

you have forgotten the back brake never works and the clutch needs bleeding all the time....

Mate, Kais were fantastic with me; great service, and no problems with you watching exactly what they are doing whilst they work etc.....

They`re a family team headed by Andy White, who`s a cracking bloke, and been around Ohlins stuff for donkeys years, so he knows what he`s talking about.

Actually, their website mentions that they have done Ohlins work for WSB and BSB teams, so he`s definitely clued up.

Highly recommended mate ! :thumbup
