Hi all, got an FJR1300 at present and was looking at XT1200Z and R1200gs when I cam across the Caponord along with the Stelvio. Am hoping to get some idea on what people think of them before I go any further. Especially if any one has come from an FJR. Interested in the new ones with ADD etc.

Thanks

Hi All,

Perhaps not the right place for a first post but like you Rockbyter I have an FJR1300, I've done lots of tours on it too (FJ club member) and it's very competent at what it does but it's just too heavy with me, the wifey and all her paraphernalia when we go away.

I've took a test ride on a 2014 MS and was very impressed but the price of one twelve months old is just too much.

So recently I've been looking at the Caponord and so far seem impressed, my local dealer (30 miles away) is Rockets in Blackburn and they have invited me to take their demonstrator out for a run.

A couple of questions;

There doesn't seem to be a lot of aftermarket goodies available, could anyone point me in the right direction?

What are the dealers like in general but Rockets if you've had any dealings with them?

If you want after market then Touratech are worth a look. Otherwise it is panniers, top box, heated grips, pretty standard stuff. I have just fitted Oxford heated grips which work a treat, and a Garmin Sat Nav which I have yet to test.

I was thinking of an FJR before I bought my Capo. I tested one about an hour before I test road the Capo. Think they are great bikes but liked the Capo more.

Test ride.

Took a test ride of the Caponord with ADD today. Very impressed and had me grinning the whole trip. Only 150 miles on it but I slipped it into sport mode for a very short time and gave a little twist in 2nd up through the gears, nearly took off on its own, that had me laughing loudly under my helmet.

Really lively, no vibrations, no glitch on throttle at all, just seemed to want to be in the lower gears unlike the FJR. Had to keep looking to make sure to change to 6th. Brakes were awesome, mirrors next to useless. All in all loved it and soon as I can finance it I will have one.
