Just found my bike on Youtube

169mph ? yeah right. On that road Kph maybe?

Yet another car driver has the 'all motorcyclists are complete wan*ers' stereotype reinforced.:jack

Display clearly shows MPH, whether that was achieved on that road or not, who knows. Personally I don't see how he's getting bikers a bad name or reinforcing a stereotype, he's an individual and only represents himself. Admitedly there were one or 2? cars in the vid coming the other way and that could have caused a problem for all concerned.

So I think the moral to this story is: never, never lend your mate your bike.:biggrin

Exactly! Give the guy a break! If he wants to do 170mph in jeans, fair play to him.

Who was that guy that set the land speed record in a pair of speedo's? Burt Monroe?

Let the man go as fast as he wants, as long as its on a deserted A-road or Motorway- fair play.

It was Rollie Free who set the land speed record in speedos. Took his leather off to get an extra 3mph:thumbup

Ah, there you go then!

Maybe you go faster in less clothes? Perhaps I should shave my legs too?
Could be worth a few tenths...

As for motorcyclists being ******s, I think most are pretty fair. It's the 'bikers' that worry me. Anyone who describes themselves as a biker is usually a liability!

(Or otherwise fat with a goatee beard)

Well as far as I'm concerned you can call yourself an operator of a two wheeled powered perambulator for all I care. Surely it's what and how you do it, not how you describe yourself. All in my opinion of course.

And another thing, get those legs shaved, it's unhygenic! not to mention unsightly in a skirt.

jeans? crap lid? dodgy road(no way private) he wont live till he's 40 either?:jack
dont worry about the 169 thats awesome..getting rid of my blackbird on sunday/swapping for the rsv99 i hit 191 on it? should i tell him?

Nah, post a vid up on Youtube it's far more fun for the new owner that way.

Maybe my net ettiquete isn't what it is, but when people use the ****** emotiocon thingy, are they really saying '******'?

Awfully rude, isn't it?

I will make an effort to shave my legs- I'm partial to the chest & armpits but not ventured south of the groin yet. I'll put it on my 'to do' list for this weekend.

I'd love to try 190mph on a bike; i found it intoxicating how much distance you travel when I had my old R6 at an indicated 172- which was probably only 160mph knowing most speedos.
I doubt it's something you could make a habit of, but for an occasional little thrill it must be fun.

You'll never make 40. :biggrin

190 didnt feel much different to 170 really
thats also why im trading it in for rsv cant imagine its gunna be as comfortable as my bird was at 170?
plus this way i get to keep my licence longer

your probably right ! 40 is 8 years away for me...wonder what ill have then?

im awake and breathing today(just) so that has to be a billy bonus

Perhaps they mean tosser :jack slightly less offensive than ****** :devious

Personally im not convinced 169mph was possible on that road and if it were it would be an inappropriate place for it imo.

I still remember the picture of a car that had been hit by a bike doing an estimated 130 on my local news some years ago. The biker (off duty policeman) hit the car, his body from the hips down hit the driver and killed them and the top half carried on over the roof. The force of his body hitting the car was enough to tear the front pillars either side of the windscreen :dowhat

Im no party pooper and you dont buy an RSV to ride around like a granny but there is a time and a place. :pirate

Definitely a motorcyclist...

Drove a car from 17, only bought a bike at 21.

I think the difference between a motorcyclist and a biker is that a biker obviously rides a bike- even when away from his/her motorcycle.

You know what it's like; you get introduced to someone because he/she rides a bike and straight away inside you think ' oh yeah, I can see that'.
The flip side is when you think to yourself ' Really? Didn't see that coming'.

One of my mates smokes, drinks JD and wears a black leather jacket- if you cut him open he'd look like a stick of rock with 'Biker' written through him!!!

I have bought a few Jap super cars from Vineplace in the North East and the lads there were full of stories

"No Sir the boost controller and Apexi afc are just there for show"

Never raced or rallied :)

I don’t have the Nuts for a 169 run, just too mechanically sympathetic

With a Zx10 in the garage I reckon you could be doing 169mph with a few thousand rpm to spare!

You must have some big cojhones to ride one of those puppies!

Deffently a biker a motorcyclist is just someone that rides a bike to be a biker is a way of life.:)

Yep, go along with that. A mate of a mate, now paralysed and doesn't ride anymore is still in his opinion very much a biker. Mind you he is converting a Formula 2 side car for road use :thumbup. Guess he'll be a triker.

That's what I was trying to get at- I agree completely.

Some people are biker 'through n through', others (like me) are just motorcyclists.

In my defence I've travelled around Europe for motorcycle racing and am fairly handy on a bike, but I know when the chips are down the bike would go before the car.
