hi got another problem first of all thanks for help up front. Right my idel revs are irratic up down +- 50-100 depending, also when moving on low revs and putting power down from low revs i can hear the chain slapping and cacthing, the slack is ok. do you think the front cog may need chaging or could it be something else. thx

sounds like it just needs setting up , co &tbs has it serviced recently ?

if not maybe worth a trip down to tamworth :thumbup

sounds to me that you have standard gearing on which is notoriously too high.
put 16 44 on it.

Yep, agreed with the comments above. :thumbup

You need 16/42 or even 15/42 front and rear sprockets fitted but before you do that make sure the throttle bodies and CO are set up correctly.

It sounds like the chain may be jumping the sprocket when powering on, check the sprockets for wear mate!

ok thanks guys, does anyone know where the nearest aprilia garage is to sheffield, ihave had trouble finding somewhere to get it sorted.

oh and is the 16/42 ect the number of teeth on the sprocket or circumfrence

16/42 will be 16 teeth on the front sprocket and 42 teeth on the rear, it should also be stamped on the sprocket somewhere.

See if you can get in touch with Griff (Aprilia Performance) and find out who he recommends in your area, he knows all the decent places to take your bike.

just checked and at minute it looks like its running a 17/42 sprockets is this a bitbad. i think i will get the bike checked aswell as the low revs are really jerky, it has been recently serviced by the guy who i bought it off 3 weeks ago. maybe give it a full service and replace air filter ect and get it on comp. also do you think its worth adjusting the TPS as its showing -1

Yeah, look for a 16T front sprocket, make sure you know what pitch chain you are running first, could be a 520 but more than likely a 525.

You defo need to adjust that TPS mate. :thumbup

Take all the excess slack out of the throttle too, this makes it much smoother. Make sure that you don't remove all the slack, check this by continually moving it from lock to lock whilst adjusting the cable.
