JERKINESS BETWEEN 3-4k RPM

I had this problem last May just after Southerncross fitted a renegade airbox mod. According to them, it had nothing to do. The problem was solved after fitting a Dr Rossi chip, southerncross also fit a new Throttle body revision kit, part number AP0281241 and balance TB. 3 weeks ago this problem started again. After doing some research in internet I decided to use this http://cgi.ebay.com.my/Red-Line-Mot...ner-118ml_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQitemZ300318603134. It did work and the bike ran again nice and smooth only to start jerking between again 3-4k RPM after 3 weeks. Yesterday I used this stuff again and the bike is running sweet again. I'm afraid this will only be a temporary solution and I'd like to get to the bottom of the problem. I do most of my miles commuting in London so I spend much time between this revs range. Any ideas on why this may be happening?

Hi guys, I wanted to bring back this thread to life again. I called Southercross to ask for advice. They told me that, in heavy rain, if fuel tank drain lines are blocked, chances are that water gets into the tank and makes the bike run like ****, specially at low revs. That would explain, as per them, why after using fuel/injector cleaner, the bike runs smoothly again. It's been over two weeks since I used fuel/injector cleaner and the bike runs like a dream, very smooth and crispy at any revs. It may be a bit early to confirm what SC guys said though. What is your view on this? Anyone else here suffered from fuel drain lines blockage and bike not running smooth?

Legs,

I did a search here and found a couple of threads about it. AMB67 recommended to apply high pressure air. Budger said that He found all the dirt had concentrated at the bottom of the tank outlets, He used a wire and unblocked it. Since I don't have any airline, I will try this last method as soon as I can.

I'm bringing this to live..again. Finally I found where the real problem was. Nothing to do with the throttle system of water on the tank etc. The problem was a dodgy coil. On the left hand side, the longer one. it wasn't making a full/correct contact with the spark plug and it was misfiring and causing this juddering btw 3-4rpm. I also noticed that as the bike got hotter, the V reading was inconsistent and the bike juddered more btw above mention rev range. I changed it, clean the spark and I'm in love again with my bike. It runs like a real champ and V is consistant now. How difficult should have been for a professional to see...? Well, it seems a lot
I am very disappointed with Southerncross. They were not able to find the problem and I took the bike more than 3 times. The last time they didn't even bothered saying they had already checked everything on the bike and altough they agreed the bike didn't run well, they couldn't find the problem so there was no point in checking again. I could (maybe) understand this if I only had taken the bike for this but I've been taking the bike there to all services + MOT + things like repack the exhaust, install new steering bearing and a loooong etc so I've spent lots of money on their biz. Bear in mind I bought the bike with 9k and now has 28k and all services have been done by them. Customer service? Some mechanics are good but their attitude and tech knowledge of some other mechanics have let me down. I will still take the bike for MOT but I will start doing myself all minor services and for major services will consider somewhere else. This is just my own experience with them and thought I should share it here.

I just posted on your thread - then read this thinking they might have been similar issues! Sergi - I had exactly the same problem with my GSXR - small split in the coil cover causing the spark to arc out losing power. Second hand coil cover from ebay, and problem solved.

akuNabil - this is what the coil looks like:

and mine had a split along the middle section - you could check to see if there is any damage to yours.
