went out to clean and lube my chain earlier and noticed one of the sprocket nuts was loose enough that it would spin freely by hand.
Had the wheel off and tried to remove the final drive so i could get to the bolt head behind the sprocket, wouldn't budge! Is this bad or is there a knack to it?
Managed to grip the end of the bolt and tightened all up to the 50nm it says in the manual. All were a bit loose. Something else to check regularly!

they're supposed to be locknuts! Think i'll definitely have to get some loctite though. Which colour is the most useful

The sprocket nuts are meant to be single use.
Because they get used multiple times they lose the ability to lock properly.

mmm, maybe time to get some new ones then. the chain looks fairly recent and all the links were lovely when I had the back wheel off the other day. BUT, still got the problem that I couldn't seperate the carrier from the cush rubbers!!!
