Well, I think the credit crunch has finally hit me. After a couple of months of struggling financially, and my disposable income getting less and less, I think I am going to have to sell the bike.

With a new baby at home and the wife not working now, its has become impossible to justify keeping my toy.

Gutted.

Keep your eyes out for bits though as I need to take some bits off before selling.

Family has to come first mate... i know you must be gutted, but when times are better there'll always be another bike out there waiting for you :thumbup

Hard lines m8, i'm sure things will get better for everyone soon but ATM bikes are a expensive toy and suck up a lot of cash.

Sorry to be reading that Dan. I know you've put alot into getting the bike the way you want it, but needs must, and they'll always be another bike waiting for you sometime soon sir. Keep smiling squire :thumbup

Feel for ya fella,we all(i think)have hard times,family first,all the best dude...:thumbup

tis a great shame buddy, due to similar reasons and after having my last brand new bike nicked,i spent 5 looonng years bikeless, horrid times.
and things get dearer and dearer, wasnt sure id ever get back on one tbh, least fuels come down a bit for now.
wish you and the family all the best buddy and dont be a stranger!!

It is difficult out there. I've seen my business volume drop by 1/3rd since March and i have been bracing myself for worse.

Things are delicately poised economy wise but there are some optimistic noises out there.

I certainly wouldn't hesitate to lose my bike if i had too. painful though it may be at the time things always go through a cycle. It will get better.

It's nice when you have to get rid of the bike for family mate, it happened to me whilst going through a messy divorce:confused, at least you've got a better set of circumstances for having to sell:biggrin. Don't want to sound heartless but if ou decide to sell the double bubble I would be intersted mate.

I agree, not a nice position to find yourself in at all.

Post your bits on here that your selling and I'm sure all the guys on the forum will give you a good price for them. :biggrin

Had to do a similar thing around 20 years ago so I could afford the deposit on my house. I cried for months when I sold mine. :bawling

if its any help when ive not had a road bike always had some form of motorized two wheels to tinker with in the shed even if it cost hundred quid helps keep the sanity hope your not down for long:thumbup

Wise words there. If you have to sell the bike then keep a few quid back to buy an old stroker or something that you can mess around with in the garage. Summat like an old DT125 so you can have cheap tax and insurance and still **** about on the back wheel:thumbup

Full admiration & respects to you Dan,..yes family first and foremost before toyz.... however another bike will come your way when everything is back on the up for yer..and this will happen for sure!
Life throws down hard sometimes but it comes and goes..hang in there for your next dream ride matey! Cheers & Respects, Aj :thumbup

Sorry Dan mate, will still see you on the forum wont we?
respect to you mate, its a big move i hope the wife appreciates it.
take loads of pics of that bike, good times ahead am sure

Bad news Dan :(

I think we are all feeling the pinch some now. Even my work has been hit hard ( A Brewery) after the smoking ban and the poor summers recently, beer is a luxuary that people can cut down on and not to mention the england football **** up.

I started getting a bit of earache from my missus atm about the cost of the bike, new tyres, chain n sprockets, tax, insurance and MOT all hitting home at once :(

Keep yourself on the forum and when i win the lotto i will get u a new 08 bike :)

Tis a tough decision mate and cliches aside I feel your pain. I had to sell my 748 4 years back for similar reasons and I was just gutted watching some other bloke ride off down the street on 'my' bike whilst I stood there on the drive with a fist full of readies.

And as tough as it is, sometimes you've just gotto be honest with yourself and put lifes priorities into order which by the sound of it is what you're having to do. You're not the only one feeling the pinch at the moment mate, far from it.

If you do sell the bike and can stomach having to take a few steps down the bike ladder, then like BS said picking up a cheap bike to tinker around with will at least keep your hand in so to speak. That's the bit i've missed the most, just having something to get my bike fix with.

Agree, its sometimes surprising what turns up when you ask around..I bought an old 250 off a work mate for £25..Yes £25 and spent hours in the shed stripping it down, and scrounging bits for it..Kept it for 2 years and had a lot of fun on it then sold it for £250, few years ago, but there's still some tucked away..

gutted for you mate. I thought I might have had to do the same earlier in the year.

Fortunatly for me my fortunes changed
