It let me down today. Starter solenoid? Sprag??

Biff I agree with the no heat on the flywheel but you'll have to heat the taper on the flywheel only!!
Otherwise it ain't coming off, or at least It would be rare if it did come off we try everytime we do one without heat first......and it's mighty frustratin I can tell you!
The flywheel would be ruined because heat will desensitise the magnets and stop the bike from charging properly...

So your right mate!! But taper only with the heat!!!

Hope his helps!!

thanks griff mate i thought i was sort of right there. i aint looked at mine so far ive been lucky. tapered shafts are a pain in the *** i know, if youve ever done a clutch on a old mini or metro they were a real **** to get off but with me having the same kind of name as the griff (im griffin lol ) and a good puller at hand i could get them off no problem without heat ,i used to wind up the puller till it went sort of tight then i just whack the bold on the end of the puller with a hammer and after a few hits it was off . shock with a hammer works a treat or even use a Air Chisel for lite rapid shocking i use mine all the time with the gearboxes dead easy to use and better than swinging a hammer around lol great for removing gears and bearing and refitting works very well with most things as long as you take care what your doing i love mine .Air Chisel:thumbup:
