Is it me or do new bikes just look ****?

Maybe I'm getting old, maybe it's rose tinted glasses, but maybe it's that a lot of new bikes look bland and very much the same.

I love the look of the RC30's, ZXR750's, OWO1's etc. classic looking bikes, even my 03 Tuono seems to appeal more than the new version. The 90's shell suit colours...fantastic, look at the colours available today....boring or what (with the odd exception).

And the manufacturers need to produce more 'road bikes' not 'hyper-mega-fast-can't-sit-on-it-for-more-than-10-minutes-without-getting-sciatica-and-with-more-power-than-a-mere-mortal-can-handle-superbikes'.

Anyway class, discuss.......:crazy

for me ... it's the exhaust on a lot of new bikes that really let the host down. Like big ugly briefcases strapped on as an afterthought.

Blame our spineless government who haven't got the bollocks to get us the **** out of europe (sorry, on the soapbox there)

I think I might have said something similar to this thread while back. Newer bikes seem to be given more power, made smaller etc etc. However, the racers you see on the tv on them are about 5'5 max. How many times I've seen some guy ride up on an r6 and look stupid as ****. Colour coordinated leathers , that's nearly as bad as camouflage gear to me cos if u sell the bike u have to either get the same colour bike or change leathers.

Anyway the riders. You have a job to see the bike under their 6ft plus frames. They put their feet down and lay them flat on the floor and still their knees are still doubled over on themselves.

**** manufacturers should justmake decent road going bikes as a 1st and sod how many they have to sell to get into a championship.

I used to get excited when a new sportsbike was revealed (eg GPZ900R, original Blade, R1, GSXR1000 etc etc), read all the tests, wish I could afford one.

The latest hot poop though (Beemer S1000R, ZX10R) do nothing for me - I've tried to get excited about them but can't. They do nothing for me.

Recent releases that have given me a semi: Aprilia RSV4 (only sportsbike to do so) Duc Diavel, V4Tuono, latest MV August Brutale..... that's it.

Now give me a mint RC30 or Rc45, or a suitable tweeked original Blade or R1 and I'll start getting misty eyed.

I think it's a combination of getting older and the fact that modern sportsbikes have been designed into a corner - just not practical or really much fun on the road.

Oh, and to answer the OP, no, the looks of most modern stuff doesn't do it for me - bland, identikit bikes.

If I see a bike and it looks ok to me I will want it .

I don`t care who makes it .

I have never liked the race type with clip-ons and fairings.

Now this was one of the best bikes I've owned and certainly one of the best looking, why can't the bloody manufacturers actually listen to what us good folks want.

Very nice.

I like older bikes as well. Hence why I decided to keep my blade as well. Hoping to get some fancy bits and bobs for it soon.
RVF400.....Probably the best handling bike I have ever swung a leg ower...brill.:thumbup
