I've had the oil pump replaced about 3 weeks ago. Brought bike back to dealer because it was leaking oil last week around where the work was completed behind the brake master cylinder. Silicone on 2 lower 8mm bolts was their quick fix. (3 days) Temporary Fix I suspect! Cleaned up bike real nice to see if it was still leaking as I could only faintly smell burning oil now. I suspected it was the film left on exhaust still burning off. Today went for a good 30km rip and when i got home removed fairing only to see oil leak is still present. minor but visible against the clean underside. Its leaking from the big gasket. Can someone tell me if this should have been replaced during oil pump replacement or just re-used. Mechanic re-used the seal and I disagree. Its warranty work and i feel they're creating call backs on purpose to drum up business. Pissed!
Problems up untill now, starter relay, rear brake master rebuilt, many loose bolts/ missing, missing lock nut on swingarm-frame, oil pump, oil leak etc... what next?

Yes absolutely never ever ever reuse old gaskets its asking for trouble, especially in area's where there are fluids.
Go back to the dealer and threaten him with legal action (be prepared to back up the threat), he must replace or repair the defect.

Apart from anything else that gasket could now fail at any point in time with rather unpleasant results.

Mate totally agree with kiwi.:thumbup

I worked in a garage for 10 years and we would never ever ever re-use old gaskets. They always leak especially were oil is concerned. Always fit new ones:thumbup

Check your ivoice to see if they charged you for one?
If not they could still charge for the gasket but should not charge any labour as they should have replaced it at the time of doing the job.:jack
