Hi folk's first post on here tho I'v been snooping for advice for a while.
So I'v a 2004 tuono (single exhaust), Had it for about a year and love it.
After I had it a couple of month's it wouldnt start at M/W service's, Turning over, no fault codes fuel pump priming just no start, Ended up leaving it for a hour then jumping it off someone's bmw,
So I stuck a new batterie in when I got home and it's been fine since.... till
Same thing happened on sat but I was near home so got it in the van to get home.
Checked the plug's and they looked fine but the gap was 0.8m so new plug's all round, all sparking fine and the bike started and ran brilliantly.
Went for a run on sunday (70 mile) then stopped for lunch after which wouldn't start again I managed to bump it(with the starter going). Stopping for fuel on the way home resulted in another bump.
Anoyingly when I got home it started fine repeatedly and the same today.
I have played about with the "right way up switch" and that come's up with "no start" when upside down so not that?
It was in nuetral so cant see it being the sidestand switch
I't does make a crack when the starter is held in with a bit of throtle
Sprag clutch? surely it wouldn't start now?

I've had a look for any loose/damaged wire's ect but cant see anything

Help please as I dont wanna have to push it off the ferrie next week when I go on holiday.
Thank's Andy

Well back out tonight for a bit tho I didn't have time to do much,
Wouldnt start so :puke
The dash was reading 12.1 with ignition on, The bike is kept pluged in and the batterie aint old!
The fuel pump sounded like itwas priming again after firing the starter.
Deffo aint the stand switch as I disconected it just to test:doug
Hopping to have more time tommorow to run through thing's so any advice on what else to check/test would be great:thumbup

you went for a 70 mile run.... ok, how fresh is the rest of the fuel considering you guys are just coming out of a long winter ?

...second thoughts, as a precaution, dump the fuel and try a new batch.

Not a lot of fuel left to dump after a 70 mile run ;)

Why do people think fuel goes off so quickly? It certainly doesn't decay that much in a few months that a vehicle will not start. I left a 30 year old car from 2002 until 2009 unused and unstarted and out in all weathers. After over 7 years it started with that petrol, I did have to use jump leads off my regular car because the battery had gone completely.

Rob :)

I'v done about 7/8 tank's of fuel this year, It cant have been more than 2 week's old and it's filled up with new petrol now. Thanks tho
