help , just fitted rear led clear brakelight unit , looks the biz ,problem is it has intigrated indicators (try saying that fast, well maybe not ), back to the problem if i use the built in ones can i remove the old original round amber ones or will plod fine me , and will it pass a mot . i am looking to fit clear flush units to the front but no point if i cant remove old ones from rear .
bike is a 2000 rsv but still a babe . any advise would be great and if anyone knows if the later clear oval units fit i would be obliged (option b , or was that c,d,f,z ,o feck it you get the idea) cheers.

I had integrated rears and the Plod in Kent really disliked them and advised me that my indicators where hardly visible when braking.

I sold them on Ebay soon after being tugged by the Plods.

Should pass an MOT as it only states that all fitted lights must be in working order and of the correct colours. e.g. Indicators amber, brake lamps red, headlights white

cheers for that as long as i know plod cant touch me , he can dislike them till the cows come home , all i need to find is flush fitting front fairing clear or smoked and i`m jamming .

Yeah, trouble is they spot the indicators, call it in and find it's legal and then scrutinise the rest of the bike looking for any excuse to write you a love letter for £60.

Can you tell I've been down this route before?

dam , point taken looks like option b , any idea if new clear units fit the 2000 if so i will disconect led flashers

i have the integrated brake light mcdougal and its awesome, never had any trouble with the old bill.

Yeah, don't get me wrong all Plod are not that hot on bikes and they may well never bother you where you live.

It was just that I was tugged and once they see your bike they remember it and I really just didn't want the hassle.

There is a reg in MOT that says the indicators should be a certain distance its either apart or distance from the center my guy told me on one of my MOTs that technically they were illegal because of distance.:confused
Someone out there most probably knows the rules but it only changed last year I think:dunno

The old contruction and use regs used to say they had to be spaced 300mm's apart, hence why all the standard bikes have such long sticky out indicators, and i doubt it's changed, as all the modern bikes stil have them, look at the 09 r1.

It's been a couple of years since i got had for it, so would suggest you have a looky on google for a up to date set of rules, as these are what plod will use to book you if they feel like it, and want more donut funds.....

Hi mate just read an old thread of yours, just wondered if you found any smoked flush mount front led indicators to fit your RSV? ive just ordered the rear set and now looking for the fronts but cant seem to find anything out there?

Many thanks

Id leave the origianbl on their just so the ******s in their cages can see what youyr doing.

Hesitating in getting a headlight cover Tbh as they wont see me aswell.

I never fitted the dual leds to the SV because of the centre line distance rule.Lots of people over on the SV Portal did fit them though and I don't recall many having MOT problems, just the luck of the draw I guess.

The dealer I use is anal about standard cans etc so would probably pick fault with these as well.

As a safety issue greater separation is probably easier to see for the average blind muppet in a cage to spot,if they can stop texting long enough to glance your way :devious
