indicator problem won't swtich on!

Hi, i recently bought a 2003 rsv 1000 and the indicators dont seem to work. i have a datatool alarm on it which makes the indicators flash when armed but at the switch on the handle bars it doesnt seem to work. the previous owner took it for an mot just before i bought it so i assume they were working

can anyone help me out ?
