Hi all. Thought I better introduce myself as a prospective Tuono owner, and vent my frustration at not finding one yet that I want. In the hope that I can hold out and get the Tuono before something else catches my eye. The weather has been great here the past couple of days and i'm aching to be on a bike.

I sold my 2002 RSVR a week ago because my wrist was giving me trouble and I couldn't do any propper mileage on it :bawling however the silver lining is that Aprilia kindly made the T and I really want that V-twin back in my life.

I'm on a tight budget so its probably gonna be a gen1. Tho for what they seem to be advertised for, a cheap gen2 could be better value. Seriously what keeps the prices of the gen1's so high ?? And yet RSV's are ten a penny ! Anyway never mind. Just gotta be patient I guess, tho thats not my strong point when bike shopping. Especially with the season just round the corner. Thundersprint, BSB, Wirral Egg Run, all not far off.

Check this one out. can anyone tell if that is an Arrow FULL system, or just the end can ?? may take a trip up to see this one next week. Check out his other bikes. He's got a quite a few smokers there.

cheers, Richie

Best get yourself down there aces and take a look for yourself, ya wrist problem mae get worse though but for a completely different reason in my bias opinion.. its the same model as mine!!!!

hi mate, have you seen the gen 1 that viva moto have (find it on autotrader), grey one 2004 with 7k for slightly less than the other your looking at. i only say this because i bought my gen 1 from them last autumn and was not dissapointed with them or the bike. it also sounds a better buy than the other too.
good luck with finding the right one.

If it budget yer oan try tae go tae yer limit as theres a few very decent Gen 2s oot thir if ye look mannie, an fur nae much mair dosh than yon Gen1 .. git yer feelers oot !

An welcome tae the TZone H min. Git richt in there!

No . yours is a 53 Tuono Racing. It will hold a few more ££££££££`s

I paid £7k for my 55 plate factory ,part ex`ed for £4.5 k and saw it advertised elsewhere for £5.5 k and lost on the Harley.

No wonder I am an hoarder.

I think best to buy old ,sort and sell.

My problem is I think all that work put in ???? I`ll keep.

Yeah i've seen the one at viva. I googled them and also the other dealer (chequered flag) last night. read good things about viva, all bad about chequered flag!! noticed the silver one has no mirrors too ?? think I'll give that one a miss. Had a sit on a gen1 in bill smiths yesterday, felt good but he wants £4.6K for it.

The thing about the gen1 I like is the little nose fairing. I imagine it is an easier bike for long distance. I'd still consider a good gen2 for close to £4k tho . . .

I guess there's pro's and cons to both the gen 1 and Gen 2. For me the standard screen on the Gen 1 works well. For others a little taller like windy it might not work so well. Can bus system on the Gen 2 and not on the Gen 1. I'm not a lover of can bus systems as you have to plug it in to sort owt out and can't do amply of work yourself so I'm led to believe.

Be patient rich. Got my mint 08 T standard r with 4,000 miles for £4k. Just look hard n don't be shy to haggle. Would of loved a factory but even with all that bling it wouldn't make me a better rider.

Bloody hell Rob thats cheap !! I'd be happy with an '06 and three times the milage for that money. Obviously not as happy as you tho, haha

If the RSVRs are ten a penny, get one, rip off the fairings and sell on fleaBay to pay for the flat bars and headlight mod. See nob fer some idears!!

Hmm, well like I say I had an RSVR and the thought did cross my mind. I still got the yokes and risers in the consevatory ! but for me its too much of a botch job, and where does it leave you when you come to insuring it ?? Its not just bars and headlight. Brake and clutch lines, throttle cables, new plastics, tidy the wiring. There's a fair bit to do/spend and the bike will be worth FA when its done. I'd rather have the official Aprilia conversion :thumbup I love the pics of what Nob is doing to that falco tho ! I think he got it cheap so it don't really owe him much. Is gonna be a very unique bike.

Just phoned up about the gen1 at Viva-Moto. There's a guy out test riding it now
