As long as the cans have no markings on them you should be okay , but its seems that it depends on the rozzer and whether he has had his donuts that day.
Pretty much the same with plates although here in Essex you will get 3pts for an undersize plate

Sounds like a plan, although baileys has gone, which was always my fave when growing up, so will trust your choice on top chippy now. will pm you nearer the time, although if your at bristol, will catch up with you there.....

From what I was told today the rozzers no longer have to check whether or not your can is even legal, if they deem it too loud they can hand you a section 59 antisocial notice , 2 of these and they can sieze your bike :jack

Always had a undersized number plate and a not standard can and so far never been stopped for it. Also a black visor. Wiltshire police seem not to bothered

I thought a undersize plate was a £30 fine? Ive been stopped for this but was let of with a warning and given a producer.
With regards to the cans i would say each county has a slightly different view on it, if police resources are already stretched they havent got the time to stop and check if your cans are Emarked IMO.
I did get stopped for speeding once, a copper or a motorcycle followed me then pulled me over gave me a ticket and while he was at it gave the bike a good eyeball, my can was Emarked but had the baffel taken out, nothing was said and i got let off. However he did say that it would have been a instant £30 fine if it was a race can (race use only)
