Upgrading heh , ive got some old black paint in me shed for that gold frame if you get a factory ( i will get abuse from all factory owners now )
Yeh im up for the rideout , im bloody gagging to get out so roll on spring or dry weather !
Just give me a shout when you need a hand and i will get me big hammer out .

Tuboy - replacing the shock really is a piece of piss, especially if you have an Abba stand. It took me and mate about 15 minutes. Probably a bit more of a faff with a paddock stand as you'd need to suspend the back end of the bike.

Hi aka - yeh been thinkin about getting an abba stand (take it they are worth it ?) - as you say only got some paddock stands so will make it a bit trickier but thanks for the info as changed the shock in my gsxr 1000 (rice burner days - then i saw the light & the T in auto trader :thumbupt) and it was a ******* of a job with much grazed knuckles

likewise bay - looked at the milege the other day (couldnt believe how many miles i did this summer :crazy) and realized it needed a service

I've not done that much. Stgill have a few miles left in it. Just they say so many miles or once a year.

What the f*** is an abba stand. I thought I was reasonably conversant with motorcycling in general and this is a new one on me.

... and perfect for shock / swingarm removal - def just a matter of minutes rather than hours (no more worrying that its gonna fall of whatever you balanced it on !!)

:)

Abba stands are great! I bought one at the NEC and am chuffed to bits ... as the actress said to the Bishop as she was run over by a steam train

dude, one bit of advice; stick a sock over the spring body before you slide it into place, otherwise you'll scuff up your nice new shock cos that part of the swingarm casting is really abrasive

enjoy, will make a massive difference and I love the look of the maxton shocks

:thumbup cheers rusty - good advice and yeh the shock looks the dogs bollocks :thumbup - the guys at Maxton are mega helpful :yes

hi newelly - if you dont mind me asking mate - how much was the stand with the adaptor for the T

Shovel: Here's a pic of my T on the Abba stand.
Tuboy: Yes they are well worth the money. I bought mine a couple of years ago with adaptors for the ZX6R I had at the time (which incidentally fit the T, saving me cash buying new adaptors), I think it came to just under £100 all in.
