Is there any special kind of polish or something to bring up the matt finish black on the tank and fairing to a decent standard?

I have tried a couple of the usual but keep getting streaks on my new (for me) 02 Mille. I like the matt finish but when it's covered in streaks it looks *****.

Am thinking of laquering over it all

Any tips?

You'll laugh and thing I'm crazy...but.....Mr Sheen.

It's awesome just about everywhere on a bike! Also, a top Mr Sheen tip - when you get new tyres fitted, and the old sticky stuff from the old wheel weights won't come off? Spray on some Mr Sheen, leave overnight, and give them a wipe in the morning - gone in seconds!

wouldn't polishing Matt defeat the object?

i buy those superguard sponges off ebay, you go over the painted areas and it leaves a strong seal of wax which takes long time to wash away.

although try it on an inconspicuous bit first though.

you never really have to wax it again for a year. use it on car and bike in fact one sponge is adequate for a car and bike

good stuff

got to be carefull as they are designed for professional valeters only although considering the average valeters a badly trained baboon could do a better job :->

Try a bit of silicon spray , like you said finding decent polish is hard work so the local shop said to try silicon , tried it and looks good , gives the bike that factory look again.

back to black - bumper guard works well for me.. used on all my matt fairings.. mr sheen also good..
cheers

When I bought my 02 RSV new from Aprilia Lincoln I lauhed when Andy Machin, the boss told back then, told me to use Baby wipes to get rid of the watermarks after it was dried.

Tried it though and it worked well..............Tesco unscented were the best / cheapest!

Bumper care - Autoglym and a microfiber cloth works a treat with matt a.k.a. Diablo Black
