Hi
I'm new to this forum and have been a proud owner of a lovely 2001 Mille since tuesday!

It was immaculate until yesterday when Mr Stoopid here didnt warm it up properley after leaving work and then tryed to increase the amount of choke whilst tootling along!
Why i did it i dont know but before i could rectify the situation the bike ****** forward, slid on some gravel and dumped me unceramoniously onto the tarmac!!

Anyway......I have scraped my fairing in various places, smashed the screen and broke off my indicator!!

I have ordered a new screen but does anyone have front indicator for sale please, and also any tips on tidying up the scratches on my fairing??

I'm so angry with myself!!

Thanks

Ben

I feel for ya dude, not nice.at least yer in one piece.
I might have an indicator I'l check tonight.
you could try T-cutting the fairing but if the scrathes are too deep you are stuck with them.
Ck

Cheers mate thanks for your help!!

The scratches on the fairing are mostly quite shallow although some are on the matt black finish....you think t-cut might still work?

I'll give it a go and then maybe get a replacement Aprilia sticker (do these pick off easily) which is scraped for the red belly pan section.

Thanks

Ben

oops :doh you wouldn't be the first and certainly not the last to have a spill like that Ben dont beat yourself up :biggrin

Welcome to a great site btw :thumbup

Hey dude-if the scratches are on the matt black plastic you are stuck with them mate. and if the sticker is scraped it will need replacing, speedaway are good for mail order tho Aprilia oe decals are expensive ie: a single side belly pan kit is about 36 quid.(from memory) Some places do good oe replica stickers,.Worth a google or a search on this site or rsvr.net
A hairdryer and some patience will remove the oe decals.
cheers Ck

PS- I had a giggle (sorry) when i heard you experience..a mate of mine ,whilst we were on a trip to mugello motoGp last year, was forever 'hands off bars' cruising at insane speeds whilst stretching his legs and generally arsing about..he was using his 'choke' (fast idle) as a cruise control!! Smart arse!
Quite a good idea..but you gota be gentle with it.
PS- I found two rear indicators they should be same as front...if you want one -- pm me mate
cheers Ck
PPS-(jesus!), I also have a used oe screen you can have. let me know.

Thanks for the welcome guys......being brought bake to earth by the drop almost seems just deserts after being so proud of my new steed!!
Carbonguy i'll PM you!!
Cheers
Ben
