Alright folks.
I just bought myself a mint 04 from a very nice bloke in England for an absolute bargain. Previous bike was a 600 Bandit so it was quite a a step up, which made the ride to Holyhead all the better ;) Loving the bike so far but I'm having one or two nigles like condensation in the dash and hard starting (which is only going to get worse with the winter). Still no regrets, exept I'm going to have to wait untill next summer to really get to grips with it.
Anyways just thought I'd say hi.:thumbup

3. Starting troubles, jeez where to start mate. Do some searching on here and AF1 forum. LOADS of little things and fixes for that. If you don't find anything just shout.

For me it was a new battery, Clock mod adding capacitor to stop resets and Yamaha starter relay.
 
Welcome to yournew obsession. I think you will enjoy your T as well. Pay attention to the lads here and feel free to abuse their expertise and wealth of information. Like anyone we love, our Ts have occasional irksome traits, yet when railing thru a favourite stretch of road one can attain nirvana on this sublime set of two wheels.
 
Trickle charger 25 quid from Halfords, used on me last 3 Prilas, bargain :thumbup
 
Nice one lads.
I have an optimate charger, I just need to send off for a new permanent battery connection so I can plug the bike in without digging out the tool box every time. I had heard about the misty dash syndrome before but had my fingers crossed. Had a quick look at it and it doesn't look too well sealed to be honest, reckon that could be an easy fix as replacement is an expence I don't really want to think about if I can help it!
Tjose brown conectors look like ******** what were they thinking!? Have a dig around over the weekend and see what state they're in.
I wanted something with character and thats exactly what I've got!
 
aw rite ducky, welcome manni,,,,, a tried the hot pin through the face o the dash, which worked aboot 70 percent o the mist,,,,,, quick and easy, an ye can hae a smoke wi the match once ye've heated the pin, and stand back an admire yer handiwork lolol
 
ach awa min, thats just a big conspiracy aboot smoking, its aw a myth, like the loch ness beastie lol
