Hi all, just introducing meself. My names Dazz, I'm on my 2nd Tuono now, its an 04 with a few trick bits and a Nori Haga graphic set.
As its coming upto 9k miles I thought I'd do the oil and filter change I intend putting Mobil1 15/50 in her but what about the oil filter do I put a standard one in or a highflow one (K&N etc)
And I lifted the tank to check the airfilter and someones writted DERESTRICTED on the airbox cover...WTF?
Any advive greatly appreciated.
Regards, Dazz.

First off, welcome to the T Zone,.....nice of you to do an intro first.:thumbup
Secondly, oil filters,....bung on a standard one,...I dont think there is anything to gain from hi-flo jobbies.
As for the derestiction,....I'm guessing someone has snipped the green wire and opened up the airbox bung. Its standard procedure when fitting an aftermarket can.
Bit of reading here,....yes its for a Falco, but the T is the same.

Welcome from me too Dazz, thanks for asking the questions, I have learned something too. So whats the point of snippin the green wire Keith??
Is this the case on the later Tuonos too? Did ask a similar question on the oil filter aswel a while back, but thats answered too. Std one it is

All early Aprilia RSV's,Falco's and T's were fuel 'restricted'.What that means is,the bikes had a restricted fuel map to get by the emission regs.(Same as the 2nd Gen T's on map 1)Snipping the green wire on the bikes ecu changes the bikes fuel mapping to a different, richer mixture.
The 2nd Gen RSV's and Tuono's use a different ECU with the fuel maps built in.You need the Aprilia Axone diagnostic tool to access them.

Awright Dazz loon...welcome. Ref filters nae benefit frae high flow gubbins but like wi maist things dinnae go fur the cheapo. Quality brand everytime as thir nae dear anyway tae buy.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, just serviced the bike and clipped the wire on the ecu but hasn't made any notable difference, may have been previously done elsewhere. Only thing I didn't do was clean the oil tank filter as it says not to reconnect the pipe with a jubilee clip. Does anyone know why not?
