airbox kit

service was a1,quickly delivered but checked in box no instructions, alli rim and gasket, air filter, hence the post on here.cheers murf, looking now it looks quite easy to fit,i will let you know how i get on.

the main thing i hear is to smooth the area on the under tank surface where the seal will meet the tank. This is imortant to get a good clean all round seal. Hoping all goes in well for ya mate, don't forget to pull your airbox restriction plate from the bottom inlet.
Regards, Aj

I believe you're supposed to add some form of sealant, nothing that glues, but something that helps the seal. Like AusRsv says, clean the contact areas and then apply sealant (vaseline might work) on the rubber before you lower the tank. I've believe people do this as it doesn't give you a perfect seal. I'm not saying it leaks like a sieve, but it can leak... Try using some form of sealing grease perhaps, just as safety measure...

K&N sealing grease is what i have ready..its a high temp. grease, so no running all over the place so they say.

Yes, when I fitted my Renegade airbox my wife was astonished when she caught me running into the garage with a jar of vaseline. Her comment, "I know you love your bike but......"

Still, there was enough left to put around the filter!
