Hi.I drained the cooling system on my 03,tuono rsv 1000,Not sure how to re-fill. I have got half the fluid back in but it will not take any more. I cannot see a bleed outlet. So how is it done ? Thankyou.

Not sure on the Gen 1, but this is in the manual for a Gen 2 - it "may" be similiar - but dont quote me on it !!!

From the manual:
6.1.2. FILLING THE COOLING SYSTEM
"¢ The cooling system is filled with approximately 2.2
litres (4 pt) of fluid.
"¢ Place the vehicle on the rear stand OPT.
"¢ Loosen the radiator breather screw.

Unscrew the oil filler plug.
"¢ Pour approximately 2 litres (3.6 pt) of coolant in the
filler.

When the coolant starts to come out of the breather
screw on the radiator, tighten the plug to the specified
torque.
"¢ To complete the system filling procedure, continue to
pour the fluid until it reaches the upper rim of the oil
filler.

"¢ Unscrew the expansion tank plug and pour the
remaining 0.2 litres (0.36 pt) of fluid until the level is
between the MIN and MAX marks.

Unscrew the expansion tank plug and pour the
remaining 0.2 litres (0.36 pt) of fluid until the level is
between the MIN and MAX marks.

Tighten the filler and the expansion tank plugs.
"¢ If fluid does not come out of the radiator breather
screw, before filling the system completely
(approximately 2 litres) (approximately 3.63 in) reach
the level in the expansion tank
"¢ Start the engine for approximately 30 seconds with the
filler plug open.
"¢ Turn off the engine and pour some coolant in the filler.
"¢ To complete the system filling procedure, continue to
pour the fluid until it reaches the upper rim of the filler

Start the engine and bring it to operating temperature
(the electric fans must run at least 2 times), turn it off
and wait for it to cool down (approximately 12 hours).
"¢ Check that the coolant level is between the MIN and
MAX marks.

Yep..... straight from the manual !

There's a few translation errors in there...It makes a funny read sometimes.....

Sorry for the thread resurrection... But wondering if the rad drain bolts use any sort of washer on them? Im going to change my coolant (gen 1) and want to have all parts to hand before i start the job ;)
