Just put a pair of akras on my 09 factory,so thought i would see how much to re map at the main stealers.....£65 plus vat minimum , i thought that was a bit steep. or am i just being a tight Yorkshire ****?
The bike is running spot on, will a remap make a huge difference?....hate spending money on things i can't see!!!

Maybe depends on what they are doing for that......

If its just a map change then it does sound pricey, if they are doing it and setting up the o2 as well then maybe not.

Whens your next service due ? - Map check and o2 are both done during a service so there should be no extra charge.

Have a ring round some Prilly dealers and see how it varies. There is always Griff @ Aprilia Performance but it is a bit of a trip for you.

They charge it

because they can.

They have the axone, we don't.

A&D at Denbigh N Wales wanted £50 just to confirm what map I was running, WTF.

Agree previous poster, take your bike down to Griff, he's better value AND you get to see exactly what's what, and he explains everything as he makes changes etc. I bought my bike in 2007 and it's running better than ever after being 'Griffed'.

Are you sure it's not already on Map 2 then? My '07 was really "snatchy" and hard to smoothly accelerate out of turns especially when going from off to on throttle. Also backfired a bit going down hill off throttle. Do you notice any of that? (after the switch it was smooth and awesome!)
65 pounds is insane. I think I paid my mechanic $US25...
Maybe have it done with some other work and see if they'll do it cheaper. Was this a face to face conversation to get this quote?

Have spoken to Griff, spot on fella,he,s doing a day inLlincoln in October, will try and get there, if work etc allows.
Not sure if its on map 2 or not, its a bit snatchy in traffic, but thats v twins for you,the bike runs spot on though, and seems much more responsive since i binned those bloody heavy truck grade standard cans....could do with the 20 kwid mates rates!!!
Could do with getting a griff day sorted in sunny yorkshire (bit of a trek for you mind jmardy?) or a part way meet with all you lot up there in " gods country ".

Held a Griff day in Harrogate back in June....... twas a good day and he gave a good talk on settin up suspension for us all too...

If you can get a few more interested then maybe host one yourself ?

Thought Id been stung with a £50 charge at my local dealer - seems not ! :thumbup

its only a 20 min job, so try and get it for half hours labour, i did.

Sometimes yer Fuds amaze me.

It's plaintively obvious that none of yers "20min job" fuds run yer own businesses wae premisses and equipment or ever have.

50 notes.

FFS, If yer need tae moan aboot somat at least make it feckin worthwhile.

:no :no :no

****** runs his own business I think.:yes

A twenty minute job at Griffs can in the right circumstances, take most of the day.
But, you get jaffa cakes and coffee, good banter and manic / frightening road tests thrown in free. :thumbup

I agree, I used to fix people's PCs/Laptops and small business servers and the amount of times people complained when I charged "plumber rates" to fix them was unbelievable. "But it only cost £400, how can you charge £120 to fix it?" Gave it up as most people are ******s. When I find a garage/plumber/joiner etc that does good work, turns up and charges a fair rate I don't complain, as they are people trying to make a living, and put food on the table.
