after taking plastics off 2day in freezing temperatures in the garage, i noticed the oil level was only just visible. i realize that it's a dry sump and would rise as temp increases etc but it was never that low a month or two ago. please someone reasure me. this bike's doing my **** in:rant. not even ridden it properly yet. thanks fellas.

Mines the same mate not had any problems in the 3 years with it like that when it warms up it goes up 3/4 up the tube

Mine has been in the garage for almost three months and there is no oil in the tube visible yet i know that there is enough oil in the system.

Dry sump in magic...
First rides in the spring and last ones in the autumn the oile level visible in the tube is different than in summers "heat". Oil temp seems to play a role as well as the ritual of getting the engine to running temperature before checking the oil level...

Ignore the level you are seeing when the bikes sat there having not been used for a while, it means nothing. The only way correct way to check the oil level is after at least a 20 minute run, switch off engine and immediatley check the site tube. No more than 2/3 rds the way up

cheers chaps. i know more about this bike than any other i've ever owned, things to check, things to look out for etc. i'm learning more and more all the time!

the rotax motors have a non return valve for the oil,,,,,only about 30% of them work,my Falco keeps the oil in the tank,& the mille will drain slowly to the sump,,

Nowt to worry about

cheerz vin. i think it's the jubilee clips that are causing the water leakage BTW as u predicted, saw evidence of water around the thermostat hose and on the other side saw water dripping onto the oil tank:rant. can't get to that hose behind the oil tank easily though. gonna get a new set of clips tho i reckon.

No usage that I see. Of course the level must be checked in the same way every time to avoid misreadings. My tank level doesn't hold long following shut-down either, I am not concerned.
