just got back from a ride out tonight with my jeans on instead of usual leathers and noticed how hot the whole of the bike gets, i coulnt hold the rear shock it was that hot!
The frame and swingarm were allso realy warm.
Has anybody else noticed this, could it just be from the heat off the pipes and cold it shag the shock?:dunno

ive heard it can shag the shock due to heat from the exhaust, its also behind the rear brake probs i think,as a few have made a heat shield to help in that department.it does it on em all i reckon.

I can relate to a bout of the hot arse scenario, especially on sunny days in traffic, and that is through the leathers. The frame on mine does get hot, but then when you look at the pipe routing it isn't surprising. I did think about the heat wrapping, but then remembered the good side of the warming you get on those cold and wet days :devious

Know what you mean there saulty. Only been out on mine in jeans once, just wanted to warm it up before an oil change. I couldn't believe how much heat was flowing over my left leg, quite uncomfortable.

cheers lads, don't mind the heat was just suprised how far it spreads, been out today and done over 100 miles on motorways and steady speeds, when i got back even the swing arm was hot, i'm sure if its normal shock, greased bearings etc are good for it. fookinluvinmemilly!:thumbup
