*BACKSTORY ALERT* after riding a ktm superduke 950 for a year and thinking, this bike is simply sublime buuuut has literally no fuel tank, figured id get my self a yammy R1. Four and a half years of ear bleeding (race pipes) performance so other people decided that the bike would look better in the back of their van than on my drive. One insurance payout later ive decided to go upright and v twin.
As it stands ive got just over 3k to blow on a tuono. Been snooping on ebay etc etc for one, and there are a few decent ones popping up.
What im after is advice on what to look for, typical maintenance routines and what accessories make one stand out (did i mention i like loud pipes)
This will be my first italian bike and im not quite sure what to expect, been on jap bikes for 8 years and they basically need nothing

Don't expect to get too many miles to the gallon from a T, they are quite thirsty.
A search on the forum will give you much info.
Obvious things to look for, as with all used bikes.

figured as much, bigger tank the ktm sd tho, anything around 100 miles is ok, thats when i filled up with the R1. are there any typical faults with them or just look for standard wear and tear?

Depending on the year you buy, you need to be aware of the infamous Brown Connector and Stator. Do a search for those and you'll get all the gory details. But don't let those scare you off, the T is an outstanding bike.
