After a lot of soul searching i'm giving up road riding, at the minute i'm not sure whch of my two bikes to keep as a trackbike and which bike to sell or break. :dunno i'd like to keep both but it doesn't make sense.

At the minute i'm thinking of selling or breaking my edwards rsvr.
It isn't mint, it was damaged on a trackday a few years back and doesn't have any edwards bodywork (bar the tank). It does however still have the edwards chip, 57mm throttlebodies, 2 into 2 akrapovic etc and never misses a beat.
Part of me says it will be worth more as spares.
What do you think.

This is a pic of it from its worst/most tatty side

I'm hardly an authority on this, but I think it's worth more as parts. Not by loads, but will edge it.
Wheels: £500-600
Forks: £600
Rear Shock: £300
Front brake: £150
Front Discs: £100
Exhaust: £300
Throttle Bodies: £300
Plus engine, carbon bits, bodywork, clip ons, headlight, swinging arm- heck, I'd even buy the crash bungs!
Probably £4,500 in parts if you sell 90% of it??

In australia it would be worth around 18k to 22k australian dollars less than 20 made it here

christ mate .....
please dont break it ... i'd love an edwards just cant afford it right now!!

edwards are rare special edition bikes........is there anyway you could just put the bike into storage or sommat???

griff

p.s how much if you are gonna sell it mate??

i've not decided on the price tbh hence the post. My other half is telling me (quite a convincing argument really) to put into to storage and if I still feel the same next year sell it.

I'm thinking a fair price would be about £500 below the list price for a good edwards as it would cover a decent paint job. But i've not worked out what a edwards goes for yet!

Got mine For 4k, 9k on the clocks ,, good condition !! Hope this helps !!

trust me mate it does, i'm thinking 3k would give someone a nice cheap edwards with the cash to make it mint again

Owww I just could collect them ;@)

lol.

The rather sketchy plan(s) we have come up with so far is :-

I'm going motorcrossing with my brother on wednesday (week today), selling my other halfs bike as she doesn't use it.

A -If I like the mx scene (I used to love it) buy a cheap bike with the money from hers, give it a bit of a try out. Keep the mille in storage till next season and see what I want to do then.

B - Give it a few more days and do the mx event and a enduro day, If I still feel the same sell the mille and use the proceeds to buy a nearly new mx bike.
I'm hoping having a new bike in the garage will mask the pain from letting the mille go.

In my head I can't justify having the mille anymore, It's too good for a trackbike tbh and i'm determined not to go back on the road due to the ammount of deaths and bad accidents i've seen friends suffer over the last few years.
