Hello All,

I have decided to do a spot of home servicing on my 2003 RSV1000R . Can anyone recommend a good place to buy:

Oil Filer
Oil (10w/40 or 15w/40 which would you use???)
Plugs
Air filter (if needed)

Cheers

Enjoy the valve clearance adjustment!
I get my parts from the local Aprilia dealer, when you do the oil filter change make sure you have the new larger filter & cover. I use the AGIP 15w - 50

you don't need the large oil filter and cover, but you do need the correct size filter for whatever cover you have. Both the long and short work equally well (it's been covered several times if you do a search it may come up)

as for parts, worth trying Griff. I always get my stuff from him, some bits he's more competitive on than others, but you should phone round anyway- he's defo one to put on the list, at least you know you'll have it next day delivered!!

Fleebay mate. save your pennies. they dont need anything super duper, semi synthetic 10/40. there is some on fleebay with hyflo filter for £29.99 free delivery. Go for standard NGK plugs no point in wasting money on iridium etc.... cheers jonny

oil filter and castrol superbike oil from halfords.. ..trade card so Mega cheap for me. :D

Send a pm to tash on here or have a look at xtreme performance solutions area of forum ;)

glad i did that a few weeks ago as i was just about to give up and buy cheap tat off ebay, Mark kindly sorted me out with the good stuff at a very good price!

LOL @ the valve clearances comment, the hardest to get to bolt holding the front cover down had almost seized on my bike, i had to take all the rads off and it took about 3 hours just to get the bolt undone >.<
gave me a good oppurtunity clean up the rads and everythin else i couldnt get at before though

always plan for it to take longer than you expect, and always research what you are servicing alot before starting.. otherwise you dive right in and suddenly go "hang on what is that?! what am i supposed to do with it..."

strongly reccomend not ordering plugs or air filter until you have checked them though, quite often the only problem with the air filter is all the fly corpses lodged in there - quick bash and its sorted :)

Pull the filter from the oil tank as well to clean it/check it
