Just thought I would start this thread to say hi, and introduce myself.
Picked up my 2007 RSV two weeks ago. The guy I bought it from purchased it new last August, fitted carbon Akrapovics, hap the remap done, fitted a nice tail tidy AND the bike is the limited edition Bol D'or colour scheme. Anyway, he decided that it was too powerful for him, despite not having run it in, so I guess his loss is my gain.
So I bought it for a crazy price, with 500 odd miles on the clock, 5 months old.
I love having a big twin again, I used to have a VTR years ago that was fully sorted and was an amazing (under rated) ride. The noise, grunt and looks are amazing.
One small problem occured today though. It had its first service this week (£321 for Gods sake!!!!!) and when I was about 200 metres from home, it just completely cut out. Engine turned over, but would not restart. Naturally I was a bit pissed off, fearing some nightmare Italian reliability issue was about to curse me.
So I phoned the dealer, who could not come out until Monday.
Anyway, I decided to have a look myself this evening, and found that the fools had left a connector partially connected under the seat. Plugged it back in and hey presto, everything is fine again.
Looking forward to riding it properly now I am not restricted to 6000rpm. Weather looks good for tomorrow.... Bring it on!
