Hi Newbie here

Thanks for the info, I want to fit a connector to the battery so I can charge it without taking off the bike.

The **** suckers at my dealership stripped out one of them tightening it up.

Read a bit aboot this on the af1. Seems the prob is when you loosen the bolt the threaded insert spins and fir some reason it's the right side that always fecks up. There are ways round it.

Rilly? As in the clutch side? Anatomically speaking that would be the left... sorry, nursey education kicking in... I'm going tae helicoil th' wee bastid this winter. What was the fix on AF-1? Same thing?

No. It's fitted to the rear subframe and that's fabricated from hollow section. The wall thickness is to thin to be able to thread it for a bolt so they use what I'd call a hank bush (lift engineers use them all the time). Ok the sort as I remember wis twofold. First was to get the bolt out, Some used a flat head screwdriver to lever under the flange of the insert thus keeping it tight or if you get the flange lifted enough you may be able to get grips on it ie pliers on mole grips.
Once it's out then you can either drill through the bottom of the hollow section and fit a nut and bolt or bond the insert back in and use plenty of lube on the bolt.

Sorry most of the probs were with the opposite side from the clutch R/H.

Cheers mate.... now all I have tae dee is tae find a warm place tae complete th' task... Kinda hard at -22C right the noo... I'll gather the requisite materials fairst.

If yer going to bond the insert back in then leave it until a much warmer time of the year.

dee ain't a verb mucker.

Welcome tricky and fandabbydosy bike yer got and Akr's too

Feck off Im jealous hehe

Mod the seat pins so its just a pull off, those bolts are a right pain

Who the feck said that, Stix yer a fud.

Go Fud yourself Aldo, Thunderroad's prices for bikes are way over the top, look at their website. Trying to give the fella some advice. I was in school with the owner also, and he was a right ****. Spoilt Daddy's boy.

Tricky - never tried their bacon sandwiches, I'm sure they are fine. I've bought some gear from them, their staff are ok but the bikes are so overpriced that's all.

First,...welcome to the site.As you have already found out, there is some good 'ol boys on here that know an aweful lot about Tuono's.
I have a permanent charger lead fitted to my bike. The connector sits next to the tool kit tray,so all I have to do is pop off the pillion seat cover to get at it.

Hello Tricky, i brought my tuono factory from thunder road newport...back in end off october....wonder if you looked at same bike?

Do you know what Evlin. I was gonna say that you prob bought the one which he looked at ;)

Well im not riding tuono in this weather!!! its too new looking lol, went out on 1050 yesterday first time imn 3 weeks...really hate not riding my bike, still not done enough miles on tuono...roll on spring i say, or salt less roads at least
will come up to Abber coach park aswell

Let me know when you're down in the spring and I'll try and pop down there for a coffee. Might be on my push bike though cos for some reason I got persuaded to do the cotswolds triathlon this year so need to get a few miles in the legs :argh:

Itching to ride my T as well (it's been about 5 weeks), but no fun at all on greasy, salt-encrusted roads so it's staying in the garage nice and shiny and under a cover. If we get any warmer dry spells over the winter I'll be up to Aber for a cuppa for sure.

Roll on Spring........

Hello Evlin, if it had a small mark on the front right side of the tank ,then yes that was the one. It's a small world init.

welcome Tricky

Hello m8t

By and large we are a friendly bunch

You may need to buy a babelfish ... as some of our Celtic members do rather tend to go off into pre-Brave Heart rambles ... usually when pissed ... or to be more correct pished, blootered or guttered.

You will LOVE the T.

You will wonder why the manufacturer chose to omit a back brake and fit steamy clocks

Most of all you will grin a lot, turn heads, pull unexpected wheelies ... and have fun

There is a wealth of knowledge and advice on here so visit regularly, chip in ... and watch out for a trappy American (lol sorry Wolf!)

Hi Keith,I have just done the same. I'm a bit happier now that the optimate is connected .
