HI! New to this forum and need to pick all your brains :)

Thanks for the advise r896neo.

So what exactly will i ask to have done to it? Do i say can i have a CO set up done to the bike? Glad i got an idea on price, dont wanna get ripped off

Cheers!!!

Welcome new chaps.
UKCus - don't forget that the standard 'Prilla bar ends are specially weighted to counteract vibration so see what your new ones feel like once you fit them.
If you're knocking up a set of frame crash bugs (especially front ones) in the very near future, I might very well be interested. Need some this month and really don't want to pay R&G prices.

hi there A303, thanks for pointing that out. I have allowed for this and made them of a similar weight, about 20 grams lighter due to the shape. The reason i have replaced them is because the original ones are mild steel and painted, if they have been scratched etc they will start to rust and look terrible.
The front crash bobbins im in the middle of manufacturing will be similar to the R+G ones and also mount the same way, at the moment im still in the R+D stage.
Will try get some pics sometime, not sure how to upload them on here though.

Cheers

Coolant flush

Anyone know where i can get info on doing a coolant flush?

Ive been in file fault and read the coolant system section in the 04-08 service manual though all it tells you is how to fill it. It doesnt tell you how to drain it, wheres the drain plug?

I want to completely drain it, flush the system and then refill it as it hasnt been done for a few years.

Thanks in advance :thumbup

If you want to do it properly then it's best to pull off the rads and back flush them using water and your garden hose. (That's just run water through them the wrong way to me and you) However, cleaning all the crap from the water pump etc... becomes a little trickier for those lesser technical owners.

However, you can get this stuff Click me

Depending on your technical expertise, which one are you going to go for? Both do the same job!!

PS. I'm technical and opt for the latter. LOL Coolant drain plugs are on the bottom of the rads and one is located on the right hand side of the engine just back from the lower hose. It is detailed in the early manuals.

Thanks for the advice amb67, the reason i asked about the draining plugs is because i assumed that you have to drain the system from more than one place? This is how i have done other bikes i have owned in the past.
Removing the radiator completely sounds a little tricky though ill give it a go, i have all the tools and coolant ready to do it....... NOW ALL I NEED IS A HAYNES MANUAL!!!!! LOL.

From what i can see there isnt any info on how to do this in the service manual in the file vault, no step by step instructions... Tells you how to fill it but not how to drain the system and where the drain bolts are located.

CHEERS!!! :)

Use the old manual mate (File Vault), virtually the same set up and it has far more information in the cooling section.

Cheers i will look now, maybe i should just put it in for a complete service LOL

Not wishing to slate motorcycle technicians, but if you do it yourself at least you know it's been done right.

Plenty of techs have no scruples at all and will gladly take your money for jobs that have not been done correctly.

Sorry for being cynical but that the way it is with the motor trade as a whole.

Yes amb67 i dont doubt that atall. Ive done it before on other bikes so ill do it on this one :)

Cheers
