Don't buy that one, buy mine, 04 reg & done 10900 miles, 6 months tax & mot, mint condition £3900. You will pay the same for that one if it's from a dealer.

Hi mate,

can you give me more info on yours please (mods/service etc)? To be honest it is more than the one I am looking at though....

Cheers mate.

Hi Mackeral. Assuming it's as tidy as it looks and it's black frame (more desirable imho!) with ohlins, monoblock calipers, oz wheels etc it's gotta be worth £3000 maybe up to £3500
whaddya think?

Cowelly - yes, unto 3k is what I want to pay. It was on ebay for £3450 but didn't sell. The seller relished it this week and its £2950.

If you can get it for under 3K I would buy it then mate. I'm trying to sell mine to get a Tuono as my wrists are knackered & been looking into trade in's etc & 2002 standard RSVs are selling for that money in dealers. I've been offered 3.5K for mine by a dealer against a 6K Tuono so that one's a bargain

£3k max I reckon - a lot of bike for £2.9k. That one does look especially tidy in the pics mind too!

Same model as mine, I paid circa £3.5k in 2008 and it had done 8k (iirc). I also got eproms, exhausts, paddock stand. It had also been treated to common mods such as side-stand, front sprocket, clutch master - but not the starter solenoid which soon needed doing!

Good luck and enjoy! I always get people admiring mine, odd as it's a nearly decade old bargain....

Hi guys.

Pondering over this one that is for sale at the moment.

What kind of price should I be looking to pay in £ UK?

13k miles. Full service history. Not seen it in person yet. Ballpark figure for the 2003 RSVR?

£2950 sounds very cheap for a 2003 RSVR with FSH and 13K miles. It seems to be missing the stickers on the air intakes on both sides of fairing (where it says R1000 on nikfubar's bike) is there a reason for that?

Rob :)

Cheers guys. I don't want to spend more than £3k as like you say the this generation is a decade old now. But £3k full Ohlins, Oz & Brembo's really make it worth while I guess!

Just sold my 2011 HRC Blade (in fact i've had 3 of the latest shape blades!) but love the Mille. Currently riding a 2002 RSV which is fantastic. A better ride than the Blades in my opinion.

Have emailed the seller to ask. There are a couple I've seen now without that bit. Not sure if it is for looks that some people may have removed. Hopefully not been decked.

It looks clean ,but your better having a look in person , you will know wot to look out for ,but check the lock stops always a good sign for a crashed bike and the swing arm but it looks the part and the milage is a bit low but not too low to get you worried:pirate, another reason to go and see it is how it starts if its been up for sale long and sittin about it could need work to the battery and starting system we all know about those things:jack and the dash check all the displays not a cheap fix but hell just go for it:eek: next spring youll be able to sell it for more than you paid anyway........let us know how you get on:biggrin:thumbup

Cheers bryanthegoat.

Am intending to check it out first.

Lock stops - are you talking steering lock? How much do the basic mods (i.e. starting, upgraded solenoid etc) cost if it hasn't already had it done?

Anything else to check?

Cheers mate.

Rob.

nikfubar, why don't you just put high bars on your rsv, that's what I've done and although I've got all the stuff to make it a tuono I reckon it looks much better with the full fairing and higher bars

That's what I plan to do now, just got a 2nd hand top fairing off the bay to cut down, gonna get new decals for it from the image works & got a top yoke off the bay which I'm going to get NK racing to weld me on a set of fat bar risers, longer throttle cable & brake line from Venhill.

I think you will pick most of the stuff up for under a ton but fingers crossed you might not need it but these bikes hate a winter even the newer ones didnt do to well unless it was on the charger....

How much did you pay for your top fairing mate? I can't bring myself to cut the original. I was thinking of doing the same but using adjustable clipons, may be the Tarozzi high rise type, and, like you sourcing the cables/pipes from Venhill. Will you also need an extended clutch pipe and 'choke' cable too? Have you thought about how to mount the clutch and brake fluid reservoirs yet?

Cheers

Rob :)

I paid £65.00 it needs respraying the correct colour but it has no damage to it. I heard you could re-route the clutch hose, but if not the build a line hoses are only £25.00 complete from Venhill. Proberbly going to get a universal cable kit for the choke as these are nothing special. As for the reservoir mounts I plan to buy a couple of Tuono ones if they are not too expensive, alternatively I will photograph some Tuono ones & fabricate them myself.

Just paid £1800 for a 2000 rsvr with 11000 on clock with full SATO race system. Looks nice the 2003 model i would snap it up { offer 2700 there are plenty about}

you don't need longer throttle or idle cables as they will just re-route.
sorry to highjack yer thread mackeral, I always find the best way to buy a bike or car is go to the persons house and just see what you think of them and how they live ect and obviously how the vehicle looks but as I said for me it's as much about the seller as the bike coz ALL of the rsv models are good!!
