Hi all

Can you help ?

I had my 07 tuono delivered on thursday (by van from the shop) on my 1st ride (friday) i filled up the tank & did about 60 miles & the fule light came on ? the bike is smelling of fule from the air box & the cans ?

The shop told me that the bike had been on the dyno & set up on thursday morning ?

There is no power commander on the bike ?

Can you help ?

Or am i going to give the bike back to them & go back to my old KWAKER ?
 
Welcome f, sounds like yer shop's telling yer a load of Bull, get back on tae them and tell them yer machine isnae right cause yer loosin fuel fae somewhere.
Yer could try filling it up again and see how much it takes to fill it, assuming you filled it to the to top it should give you an idea of how much was used over the 60miles.
Sounds like it's running mega rich.
If yer not happy wae it threaten them with returning it and see whit their response is.
A hope yer get it sorted mucker and get tae enjoy The Grin. :thumbup

I rang the sales man 4 times yesterday to try & get it sorted but he has not got back to me.
I am not happy with him so may jest tell him to give me my old bike back & he can have this one back?
I will keep looking for a tuono.

f am sure you'll get a more responsive outcome if yer tell them yer want yer old bike back and if it dosnae work oot wae that lot keep lookin fir another one, they are worth the effort imo.

****** service is never acceptable ... and any business must surely realise that unhappy word of mouth and a bad reputation will ultimately cost them far more than sorting out your problem.

Tell them you've started a string on this forum ... and another on a Kwacker forum (but haven't yet mentioned their name) and that lots of people near and far are watching with interest.
 
Hi all

I got a call off the boss of the shop yesterday,(sat 18th) He told me that the sales man that sold me the bike was new & had done his best ? The shop is about 80 miles away from me. He asked if they can pick the bike up on tuesday morning take it back to the shop that did the mapping (as they did not do it ?) get them to have a look at it & sort it out (if they can ?) & i told them that i wont the bike back by Wed 22nd 12 noon as i need to test ride it that night as i will be in work 8 am till 8 pm Thur & Fri & am going on a bike trip sat, sun, mon & tue. I also told him that if the bike comes back on wed & is still the same after the test ride they can bring my old bike back on fri after noon & pick up the aprilia when my wife is at home as if i am there i my jest kill some one ?

The shop are picking up the Tuono today 21st August. I have given them some info that i got off Steve at motrac & we are hopping that they can get it sorted. ?

Jest got a call off the shop to say they found out what was wrong with the bike.
It was the pipe on the manifold/intake air pressure sensor. That is what Steve from motrac told me to tell them to look at.

The bike will be back with me by 12 noon tomorrow and i will be out test riding it no matter if it is rain or shin.
I have had to take 2 days off work with no pay to sort this out, so i wont it wright if it is still the same it go's back & i will go back to my old bike.

on Saturday the 11th August i was told i can not pick the bike up as one one the mechanics at the shop smelt fumes when he was test riding it for the p.d.i so it had to go to the other shop on Monday 13th August to be looked at The mechanic at this shop took it out on a test ride & told them all was ok with the bike & they will deliver it & pick up my old bike on the Thursday 16th August. Then on the friday 17th August on my 1st ride the over fueling & the smell was so bad it made me ill. So the shop have picked up the bike today & are dropping it off tomorrow i am hopping that it is sorted now ?

I'd be hopping mad. It must be raw unburned fuel ?
 
its not leaking is it, mine just decided to dump half a tank o gas on me garage floor the other night, looks like fuel pump seal... i do ****** hope so... as i,ve heard o tanks distorting..
 
Ok all an up date for you

The Tuono is back they found the pipe to the sensor under the tank was split.
Was told they took it out last night for a test ride. Looking that the miles today they did 4 miles not much of a test ride?

Had an email off the sales man last night say that it was ok when the mechanic at the shop we got it from did a test ride on it. then the mechanic in the aprilia shop told them it was ok. so the pipe must have split in the back of the van when they were delivering the bike to us :lol:lol:lol He must think i am thick.

So am off now for the rest off the day so going for a test ride. If it is the same & not working then i will leave the bike were it is & get the shop to pick it up & will get my old bike back A.S.A.P

Ok all

Jest got in from a 100 mile round trip on the Tuono.
The over fuelling has stopped got 100 miles before the light come on to fill it up.
The smell of fuel is no longer there & the bike runs a lot better.

Thanks for all your help.

And a big thanks to Steve at motrac for the help with the info.

Oh.... prepare yourself for returning from every ride with a huge stupid grin...
