Hi

New to Tuono ownership and looking to sort graphics out as the originals look a bit sad.

Anyone got any ideas where I can get a replacement set (or somethinng better)!!!

Cheers :thumbup

Hi

Yes. There is everything but original Tuono graphics.

Mainly looking for the seat unit graphics or some inspiration to do something a bit different!!!! Any ideas welcome

Do you know id anyone does custom graphics for a gen 1 model?

BTW, what great bikes they are! Just changed from an R1, and the difference..............:biggrin

Added a stubby Delkevic pipe and it has made a huge difference against the stock exhaust. Just need to reset the power commander now!

Think I've some decals for the gen1 kicking about will have a wee dig and see if I can find them.. pretty sure there's some seat unit decals in there

Welcome on board , sure you will find a massive difference from the R1, I drifted away from twin went four cylinders in line, triple, and V4 but just had to get back to the grunt from a twin. As one bike mag said " nothing tests a rear tyre like an Aprilia twin more grunt than a corn fed pig "
Ive also been trying to sort graphics for my gen 2 seat cowl ! Hope you find what your looking for enjoy the T ,

I`ve had my "T" painted so needed decals........................

I traced the originals ,cut them out and got the shop to make them

i got a after market set for mine from italy.....they were *****....so i went to graphics place, got the vinyl for **** all and cut them my self

Old thread... but same problem... my rear seat graphic has rubbed through in a couple of places where previous owner toured with bungee straps...

Can anyone advise...
- Does the original transfer/decal behind seat peel off easily?
- Has anyone just stuck replacement transfers on top of old ones to good effect?

PS: Need the rear seat decal sticker, in gold, if anyone knows of one going cheep... meanwhile I will check out Imageworks...

Easiest way to remove decals is use a bit of heat.Pinch the missus hairdryer and pick away at one corner with a finger nail.Heat guns are ok if it has a low setting.Dont go too mad and dont apply too much heat,...or else the paint will go soft and you could lift that too.Remove any sticky residue with alcohol wipes,or similar.
Sticking a new decal over an existing one will look ****.

Good info, thanks...
- Looks like my pain-stripper heat gun on low setting should come in handy again. (Good for shrink wrap on cable repairs too!)

... and for the 'Imageworks' ref previously.

Pinged them an e-mail. Based on their website they have good experience on Aprilia decals... and this is a standard job for them.

Anyone know the colour code for the 'gold' decals on the 'battery grey and gold' 2003/4 model Gen1?
- Thanks in advance of any info...

PS: Imageworks can knock up a decal... but need to a colour match (as their previous work for 'behind rear seat decal' was for a different colour)...

Hmmnn did some more searching and realise 'Aprilia don't publish paint codes... only names'.

...So... if anyone - especially those who have had paints mixed for them - can reference a 3rd party web site paint code/url... for the 'bronze' in the 'battery grey and bronze' 2003 models, would be much appreciated.
But if not... I shall herewith stop talking to myself... :crazy :)

... I need a swatch for a 3rd party artwork provider...

Paul D,

Try " bikepaintermal " eBay seller.
I bought a bottle of touch up paint Aprilia bronze for my 2003 Gen1 Tuono.

I think this is the item No. 290166722724

Good luck :clap

Thanks guys.
Sounds like I will need to source a 'touch up' sample and send it to the graphics artwork company, in absence of a suitable code or other reference.

Keith, you are right, guilty as charged. Seems like I was getting my magnets and batteries mixed up...! Obviously in a state of flux here... Which is why having such good connections on the forum come in handy. Evidently, some Tuonos are more like magnets than batteries... :)
