Help with flapper valve mod

Hi everyone,
i have done the flapper valve mod on my Tuono V4R1000, the bike sounds good. I tried to put the cables back in preparation for an MOT test, I photographed the cables at the servo end to make sure the lengths were the same and put it all back, it worked for a while then i got the red service light and now it won't fully close the valve and makes a clicking noise (sounds like it is struggling to close the valve). any one got any ideas what the problem might be?

As it all worked for a while, sounds like something has come adrift since reinstallation. Not familiar with the set up, but check any retaining clips, securing nuts, etc, are all still in place. Yup... means you have to lift the tank again, and take a gander! :)

If its not to much to ask One thing I forgot to do was taken pictures would you be able to send me a picture of the cable i.e were the adjusters are if you have it so I can do the same

Are you sure you have not swapped the cables round.ie top on bottom and bottom on top. If you check my posts I did the same and had to ask a forum member for a photo of his, so I could put mine back for sale.

these are the only pics i took, Neo advised me to do this so i could put them back with the same settings
 
Oli I disconnected mine from the flapper end not the servo end not that it makes any difference, have you taken a look under the bike to make sure the cables are connected ok (flapper end) it's got to be something simple

I have disconnected it again, I plan on trying to put it back to normal this weekend, so i will give it a good check over to make sure it is all routed o.k. and let you know how it went, cheers
 
Whats the benifits of this mod?
If I am correct the flap opens when a gear is selected so what's the difference, other than more noise in neutral.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

the valve is closed while the vehicle is stopped to control noise, it fully opens above 5500 revs. it is there to control noise but affects the power low down when it is closed or partially closed depending on revs. if the valve is always open it gets rid of the snatchy acceleration in the low revs but takes a bit of power away. so its mostly to make it louder in neutral and low revs
 
servo has over rotated and is ******!! same as mine did, youll need to visit the dealer to set the servo back up, hopefully it wont cost you an ecu like did as the servo never got past phase 2, i hear a race ecu coming on lol

Not yet Neo, had a busy weekend with my parents coming down, so i didn't get round to trying to fix it. Hopefully i will get some time this weekend and see how it goes.
 
bike broke down recently, the stator had gone so it needed a new one. i asked them to look at the valve as well, the valve is also knackered (something to do with plastic gearing), I need a new servo which is expensive. I have managed to get a Race Map installed to by pass the valve instead
 
Hi Ollie not been on for a while, sorry to hear the break down when I hear plastic and gear it's never a good combination!, was the stator costly? What's the race map like? Did you get it done at the dealers?

Hi Neo, I can't remember the exact price, the stator itself didn't cost too much but I had them change a tyre and look at the flapper servo as well, so it cost me a little bit overall. The race map is good, smooth power all through the rev range, notice it most in the lower revs as its really smooth and not very snatchy. Got it done in Chichester, they tried to fix the servo and they took it apart and realised it was nackered, so instead of getting a new servo, (which is expensive) they put the race map in to bypass the need for the flapper valve
