Hi all, am putting race fairing on a 2000 rsv does anybody know if more modern looking TAIL UNITS/REAR SEATS ie k5 gsxr 750 fairing would fit or possibly 2004 rsv tail units etc I know some cutting would be required but any help appreciated thanks

that would be a squeeze mate, you could give it ago, won't slip straight on but im sure with some modification you can get anything to fit.
Try and find the dimensions of the tail unit your after and compare to those of your subframe

This is something I really want to do myself, but haven't been that successful in finding any real world examples...
I've seen an early model RSV with the late model race fairing/seat unit and it works well, but not seen anything else.
I'd like a nice, tight, pointy bum and have looked at the Tyga VFR400 tail (jap4performance), various SV650 conversions on twin shack and R6's circa 2004 model.
My problem is that I take my girlfriend on the back to actually need it to be functional, so haven't taken the plunge yet.
I'd love to graft a Ducati 1098 fairing on the front, a 2006-7 R6 tail unit on the back, an oversized front mudguard and a tiny exhaust.
Pipe dreams so far though!
