Hi Everyone..

I have just swapped fairings over on my 05 rsvr factory (well 04 to be presise) and removed my sidestanmd to get the new track fairing on...however.

I removed it and diconnected it from the wiring loom (disconnected it at a relar base of petrol tank/.)

Problem I now have is the bike starts up fine but cuts out when put in first as if side stand was down...when i removed it it was up too...

Anyone know how to sort this???

Thanks in advance///:thumbup

bb, where does that connector go...basicallly i removed the sidestand and the long electrical cable attached which went up to above the frame below the tank.

Will this bypass switch plug in here?

Far as i know mate it should plug in where the side stand switch would plug in....so its though the switch has been close

Simple job bud, get your soldering iron out, did this with mine, still leaves the sidestand light working if you do this.

First, if you haven't already, find the side stand switch connector. You need to raise the tank. It's to the inside of the left frame rail, above the sprocket cover, zip tied to part of the harness. Undo the connector. It's easier to work on if you completely remove the switch. Modify the switch pigtail, not the main harness. Three wires come out of the connector and go into black plastic sleeve. About two inches from the connecror is some tape. Remove it. You'll see that the first sleeve is slipped into the main sleeve. After removing the tape, push the short sleeve into the main one as far as you can but not so far you cannot retrieve it. Cut the brown wire as far from the connector as you can. Bend it back towards the connector. Strip 3/8ths inch off the end. With out cutting the wire; strip 3/8ths inch of insulation off the black wire close to the connector. Wrap and solder the brown wire to the black wire. If you have the tool remove the terminal from the connector and put a piece of heat shrink on it. Pull the afore mentioned sleeve back into position and retape it. That's about it. Put it all back together.

Legend badger!! But i take it you leave the sidestand sensor on the bike then...?

Sorry to be a pain Badger, but i checked out my sidestand and I only have two wires, brown and black and the connector looks a wee bit different to urs.

If I tape up these as per ur instructions will it still work..
