Hi guys, new member just saying hello and of course I have a question.
Have the bike about 3 months, 04 tuono, previous owner had k&n filter fitted and akrapovic can but never removed the restrictor from the air box or cut the wire on the ECU. I was at the bike show in Birmingham and was speaking to a guy by the name of Griff Woolley who was a sound guy and gave good advice, he mentioned about adjusting the CO to get the bike to run properly after de-restricting.
I contacted a local guy who sets up a lot of the race bikes here in Ireland for the road racing, he said he would need special equipment to check the CO,his take on it is bring the bike to the dyno and if its running ok leave it alone, fair point, but I think it would also be nice to have it at full power if possible.
Heres a picture of my bike anyway,changed from a 03 r1 and I love it to bits:D

Welcome Damo,

You can remove the restrictor yourself very easily and cut the wire without needing any further set up (but it is desireable). It will instantly give you a noticeable boost. If you're not sure how to do it or which wire to cut Griff will guide you on that - just give him a call on 01827 285500. He's a top man.

Welcome damo, scorll down the list on this forum & you will see Derestrict 05 Tuono..
Yours is the same as my 05 and the details are in said thread posted by me...
Very easy to do yourself in around 30 mins at a guess & as Bob said you will notice a difference...
Possible complications are - air fuel ratio may be too low here its hot so we need it lean around 13 to 14 mine came out at 103hp and ratio rich as **** at 6 also i have a single Akra system.
Very disapointing & have contacted Aprilia Australia and demanded my 120+ hp back so they are looking into it... will keep you informed....
Also Chunky is pretty up to date with that sort of thing..
Cheers & welcome aboard from Toiwe
PS. prolly good idea to sort the sag & suspension too

yeah thats what I was worried about, screwing up the fueling, I might give Griff a buzz on it tomorrow, thanks for the help guys

welcome Damo, like you I changed from a jap sportsbike, best thing I ever did!

Hi staddsy, do you get down to the Quay in the summer months very often? If so perhaps we could meet up one Tuesday next year.

Neil
