Hello,
I cannot decide what bike to get next? the choice as it stands is a ZX12R (good for a blast round the alps with the missus on board.) I am thinking of getting a 2005 model and fettling it. However I cannot get the RSV out of my head. They seem such good value and look the business. I sold my 2008 Zx10r last year because of redundancy and I want to spend about £5000 - £5500 on my next bike. I am really leaning towards the big twin - is there anything I should really watch out for?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Simon

If your thinking of twoing up a lot then the rsv is probably not the one to go for , I actually went from a zx12r to the mille . The 12 was and still is an awesome bike even by todays standards and makes a good bike for having someone on the back . Having that bit more weight in a bike helps the stability quite a lot . Yes the 12 is a starship and quite easily a licence loser as is the Busa and so on but I found I wanted a bike with soul and passion ( theres one for Top gear ) and the rsv , I suppose most twins though , give that and a bit of pain inthe winter months lol .

Zx 12 or RSV

The RSV is the best for soul and you will love having one, there no going back from V twins if you get in to them! But if you are looking at touring round Europe with the mrs you would be better off with a ZX12 as although the RSV is a brilliant bike we all have regular reliability problems with them which is ok if you love your RSV, but one would almost certainly let you down on a two week tour of Europe unless you could guarantee perfect weather with no rain or a RSV would breakdown at some point! The Kawasaki although not as enjoyable as a RSV would get you there and back without any drama!

Hi and welcome

It sounds like you need a tuono more than an rsv, have a look on the tzone forum

Its hard getting a bike that can give you that thrill and also be usefull two up in the alps, vfr's zx12's hyabusa's would suit that or a goldwing

Every Kawasaki I've had as let me down..From a GPZ750, to a ZX9R which blew its head gasket..The RSV has been as reliable as every other Jap bike I've owned..

Touching wood..
