Heated grips...

Hungry for muff eh? Fancy a bit of curly neoprene between your incisors??

I have no idea what that means ... but if it's something T zoners should share I'm game

I've just bought a pair of Karrimore glove liners from Sports Direct for £2.99 (in their perpetual 70% off sale) .. and will report their worth in due course

Has anyone tried heated inner gloves?
Are they wired to the bike or do they run on batteries or both?
Keiss make them.

Ahv nae long fitted a set o the Oxford Hot Hands wrap aroond type o heaters tae mah Caponord as a quick fix. Very good heat level albeit nae adjustable, either on or aff. This husnae been a prob fur me though cos its been way tae cauld tae even think aboot switchin them aff.

10 minute job tae fit as weel. The good thing is its mere minutes tae swap them ontae one o the other bikes as weel if need be

Tried out the muffs today, kept most of the cold out but it was cold this morning! They are a bit awkward to get to the controls with winter gloves on but with some tinkering I should be able to get them something like....I hope! As I said earlier I can live with the looks if they keep my paws from turning blue!

After havin heated grips wired to the battery terminals (via fuse & switch) how/where d'you guys think I can hard wire it to (via the ignition)?

Cheers!

PS first long ride of the year yesterday nearly 200 miles in subzero temps in Norf Cumbria! Brilliant!

Isn't there a connection in the main harness somewhere for an accessory plug that would do the job? I don't know about Aprilia bit Triumphs I have owned have had a plug built into the harness to take heated grips, sat nav etc.

the chap that does work for me on my bikes is going to wire them into the lighting circuit cus some **** switched them on when i had stopped for a break on the motorway and flatend the battery

Exactly mate , anyone know best place? Found 30A fuse under riders seat.Would not use lighting circuit on principle if something went wrong could loose lights especially in the dark. No leccy bods on here? =)

If yer only using the lighting circuit as a switch,(via a relay) it should be fine.
AFAIK,there is no accessory socket on the T.Just feed the grips directly off the battery, through a fuse and break the supply with a relay. The switch side of the relay could come off the lights. That way the grips will only work when the ign is on.(Think thats right.)

Heated grips are fine, I have some on my trusty old Honda Hornet 9, but I'd never, ever, ever fit them to my Tuono...they are thicker, feel bulky and you loose sensitivity...bit like wearing a johnnie for sex...it's ok....but you'd sooner it wasn't there....

I've heated grips on mine Tifa and dont find them bulky at all though. Saying that I stripped the original rubber gripps off mine and put a new set of throttle grips over both right and left hand side which has thinner rubber.

When I've been out on cold days what I've noticed is they keep the inside of the hands nice and warm but the outside of the fingers etc still get cold. I've found a decent set of gloves is better than using the heated grips.

lol...my thumbs always get cold, it's the only part of the hand that isn't actually in contact with the grips...

personally, I dunno what all the fuss is about......we should all just man the **** up and embrace the old frost bite... :crazy
