I seem to getting flashed all the time when on dip, infact my dip beam seems to be brighter than full beam. I have tried adjusting the screw in the lower left hand corner anticlockwise but it does not seem to make a difference. The manual states a phillips head but on my lights is a allen key head.

Anyone had any experience in adjusting these? They are bloody awkward anyway thats for sure.

Many thanks
Mark

G'day Mark,
Took a bit of finding (knew I read somewhere).

Here is a quote from an AF! forum thread by "Timcrasher"

The headlights are always set a little high. To adjust them you require a 4mm ball-ended allen key. You will find the adjusting screw at the back of the headlight, near the middle of the light unit. If you look at the central air intake you will notice a small recess in each side to allow access to the headlight adjustment screws. Turn the forks to full left/right lock to gain access. Turn the screws anticlockwise until 3mm of thread is showing. The adjustment should now be just about right.
Obviously if you have altered the ride height/droped the forks you will need to adjust it to suit.
Hope this helps. I should adjust mine also.
:cheers Perry

Sorry but should have also mentioned that my dip beam seems to be brighter and more vision than my full beam any ideas??

Yeah I've noticed the same spread of light. :dunno I think low beam spreads more left/right and high beam is more straight ahead, like driving lights on a tin top.

Must admit I have been having the same problem with the lights.

Cars blinding me with their high beam cause they think I'm using mine.

Will be a job to do today will I'm grounded due to the rain:no

It seems that T lights are set high from the factory. This has been a recurrent theme, at least since I got mine in March '08, and probably dating back to the release of the current model in 2006.

Whilst I am no expert on the matter, it seems there are two ways of attacking the problem: Firstly, you can kill two birds with one stone and set the forks lower in the triple clamps thereby dropping the headlight beam, and slightly altering the rake to provide quicker steering. And secondly by using the method above to simply alter the aim of the headlight lowbeam. I personally have yet to alter my steering geometry, but it is on the agenda for later in the year.

With the increasing number of "blind" drivers on our roads the fact that your lights annoy them,at least means they have seen you.So shouldn't have the " sorry I didn't see you" excuse and hopefully not cut across at the first chance:banghead. So is it really a bad thing!

Yup. Quite agree.

I have ben known to drive round (during the day) if it is a bit wet, with my full beams proudly on. Stops those idiots turning in front of you. Never at night but.

Well, it is when the guy coming towards you flashes his quad Hella spotlights in your face!

I literally couldnt see anything for about 5 seconds.:thumbdown

This happened the first time I took the Tuono out at night, so I didn't even know it was set badly. However - the fact I could plainly see it lighting up the faces of passengers in oncoming cars did give me a wee clue, lol. :eek

I then stopped to tweek it but I still get grief, so maybe needs tipping down still.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Out for a long bimble with the missus on the back last night and I realized (after many many kms) that my high beams were shooting 5 or so metres up in to the trees that I was wandering through. I too get the flashy flashy thing in the face and am getting tired of it. That being said, focusing the high beams ( and yes, they do seem to be a bit dimmer in the short than my low beams) a little lower so that they are lighting the road instead of the foliage overhead seems like a great idea. The tip about how to adjust with the ball end allen key comes at the perfectly apropos time. Thanks again, lads!
