Well bought a new battery which i now dont leave on the bike at night bring it in the house where its warm and still this bike refuses to start. Turns over really fast but still no joy. Think that im really not goimg to like this bike it looks fantastic and i imagine that it rides awesome but its kinda hard to ride it when its stuck in the garage and wont start. So im now looking for a replacment R1, Blade, Gsxr1000 or ZX10. Such a shame that a life long dream of owning an italian super bike has turned into such a nightmare gonna stick to jap bikes from now on.:angry:angry:angry:angry:angry

At the mo yes even with the battery fully charged it turns over great but just nothing. Just lost all faith in it now kind of scared to ride it anywhere in case it wont start when i get to come back. I need something that is reliable and seems like this one isnt.

Sounds like it's something more than the battery then. Give Griff a ring or PM him on here, (fusebox), he might be able to point you in the right direction for something else that it might be.

Shame you're having problems as these bikes are great when they're going well, (which is most of the time if looked after). I had more prob's with my old Blade than I've had with my RSV.

Even more of a shame that you feel you might have to sell to buy a clit :biggrin.

I would change the spark plugs. This same thing happened to me. After so many failed starts, the plugs fuel-fouled and the bike would not start. THe plugs will not fire when saturated by fuel.

This was a bit of neglect on my part and not the fault of my beautiful, fast machine. So long as the battery stays up and the ignition has enough juice to power the starter, fuel injection AND the spark plugs, the bike will start.

Of course, this could happen to any bike.

yep as above ...get it to Griff...it will get sorted then you can stop thoughts of a boring but reliable jap bike

M8 don't rush it with selling, can you blag a shot of someones rsv that works, it will change your mind about them in an instant and you will then keep going till you sort the problem then it will all seem like a bad dream,

have you checked the tip over switch, can you hear the fuel pump running when the ignitions on,these are a few things you can check dont give in my first mille had a few problems but once sorted ive never looked back.like everyone else said give griff a shout

Like the mans says dude, I had problems with my first mille, now im on my third, still wish I didnt sell my Yello'un :)

To be honest buddy, think the best bet now is to get some one to look at it who knows about bikes, If you can get it to Griff's then your sorted, if not then anyone who know apes. I bet it its something stupid like a dodgy lead, crap fuel, no fuel, dirty plugs etc. stick with it kid :)

I'm in Liverpool, so you're not too far away. If you need a hand getting it going give me a shout. Have you tried the usual things like no cold start and throttle wide open?

Thanks for the info guys looks like the ape is staying after i got the most ridiculous offer on a trade in ever. Got it started this morning so get the chance to ride it today had to jump it off a car battery. Im gonna call Griff later and let him work his magic on it seems like he knows his stuff from whats being said on here. I really hope i can get it sorted really want it to work.

Well just spoke to Griff what a nice guy looks like he is going to be playing with the bike at the end of the month. Also spoke about him doing a tour in the Stockport area so if anyone needs his services i can get him to come over here and do any work that people need doing. So glad i have found someone that knows these bikes inside out and is a nice guy too. Will create another post to see if there is any interest in a tour later.

He's a good guy is Griff and you'll find that the bike is a totally different beast after he's worked his magic on it. He wont rip you off either, part of the reason that he's got such a good rep :)

I always start mine with the headlights unplugged....working on getting a relay wired in to do it automatically til the engines up and running.
