Hard to change down gears

Help please guys.

99mille. Just bought. Took it out for a Cheeky ride as it's not road registered yet and it's really hard to change down gears. Also creeps forward when it's put in first. It's been stood around for a long time. Do you think changing the fluid might rectify it. Hope I haven't bought a dud. :confused
Thanks in advance

Could be the engine oil but that usually causes the opposite problem.

Sounds more like the clutch is dragging, I would check the clutch fluid level, the slave cylinders are prone to leaking so you may be down on fluid.
If that all looks good some people have had good results reducing clutch drag by changing the clutch oil jet
improved clutch action

Thanks for the response rumple. I've heard a bit about these oil jets, but what's the difference? I will check mine to see if it's been moded, but not sure what I'm looking for?
